That & Ive forgotten the password, loginname & retrieval question answer for my Steam account :-D
You can probably call their support and work that out.

Or you could just make a new steamID.
& I would, if id wanted to play a game on Steam since completing Portal :)
Like The X-Com series, Vampire; Bloodlines, The new Tomb Raider (Gorgeous), Team Fortress 2, L4D, Audiosurf, Mare Nostrum, Jagged Alliance 2?
All of which I can say: Played, Tried or not interested in :)

I'm not trying to imply that the only reason he's stating his opinion is to make Valve smile, I'm just saying that he's tried to prove almost everybody wrong that doesn't like the game, and he's doing so as if everybody who criticizes the game is insulting his mother or something.
This is something I brought up in another thread, but I generally find the attitudes in The Escapist to be fairly mild and civil (in comparison to other popular forums). Then, somebody (in this case, you) comes in and pokes it with a stick to try to get some feathers ruffled. People are just discussing their opinions, and generally that means at some point, someone will have to disagree. And that's O.K.
The funny thing is, I didn't even disagree with him. I thought the game was good, but could need improvement in some areas. This lead to some thinking that, because I didn't find the game absolutely perfect in every way, I must be just trying to milk people of their feelings. This really makes me think about the maturity of the people on this forum.

I like you, you're silly.

When did I say I didn't like the game? I just said it was generic, average, and that I wasn't going to buy it. I reserve the term "bad" for games that are actually painful to play, which this clearly isn't.

Talk about blowing something out of proportion. Not all games that use the same game engine are as closely related as the games that use the Source engine. Gears of War and Bioshock are only similar in that they both have guns so your generalization is flawed. However, I haven't seen a Source game that isn't a first person shooter that makes you feel like a floating camera with a gun on the end.

Also, I'm finding it hilarious that the same people who openly criticize games like Halo and Gears of War for not being original act like anything Valve puts out is above criticism.
Your silly, too, really.

Anyway, when did I say anything about Halo or Gears of War not being original? (for that matter, did I even mention Halo?) Besides, I resent you accusing me of being a "fan boy". For the record, I'm not especially fond of the gameplay of Day of Defeat: Source and at this moment in time I can't even play Counter-Strike anymore.

At any rate, if you don't like find L4D "average", then okay, that's your opinion. I can accept that and, frankly, I don't care. I know I like it, and I'm the one playing it, so that's good enough for me. Still, I'm going to repeat what I said at the end of the last post: don't ruin this for those of us that actually like it. I'm pretty sure you didn't mean it and all your doing is defending your opinion (and by all means, I respect that), but you have to admit that your provoking people in this thread. I'm not going to try to change your mind, and I hope your not trying to do the same. Don't try to argue that the game isn't anything special when everyone is so excited about it. Don't ruin this for us.

Nowhere close, buddy. nowhere close...
Well, that's what I thought you meant.

Also, on another note, when you're replying to somebody, it's better to quote them, so they get a handy little message notifying them that you've replied.

I'm undecided. The game is friggin' fun but I'm not sure about the replayability.

I'm glad that the game doesn't have glasses.

Here's how my group sessions go. (I'm 1)

1: Be sure to close that door.
2: Right.
3: Woah, you hear that? Shit, there's a witch...
1: Oh, man. OK, everyone lights off.
2: Okay. But you know, actually, if we all concentrate our fire, I think we can kill it.
1: Yeah, but we'd lose at least one guy in the process...
2: No no, if you all aim for the head and take it by surprise then you can down it in like two hits. I'm serious, I've seen a bunch of guys do it.
3: Like, with them?
2: Uh, no, on YouTube.
1: Guys, I'm against this. There's no reason to attack it, so stop being an idiot and just-
2: Okay, 2 and 4, you go over there, and...
1: What are you-!...You idiots! (I run away)
*BLAM*
3 has died!
2: Oh SHOOT!
4: KILL IT!
2 has died!
1: I'm going for the exit! LATER, you idio-aw, dangit, a smoker...
Your group has been overwhelmed!
1: Let's not do that this time. Lesson learned?
2: Lesson learned.
1: Okay, let's go. Be sure to close that door.
2: Right.
3: Woah, you hear that? Shit, there's a witch...
(REPEAT)
It's more fun that way!

One question: Do you have to play it online? That sounds like a recipe for disaster for me - I really dislike co-operative multiplayer.
I usually like playing against/with bots, but this game is pretty much wasted in single player.

i was going to wait till reviews started pouring but just the replayability of the demo alone, due to the randomness of the director AI, secured my pre-order.

Nah I'm bored of zombies now. I'll stick with mutants and soldiers for the minute.

Don't you mean my ego?
Also, I have a King Gorilla as a pet. He'll tell them to fuck off, and they'll have to listen, wether they want to or not. It's nature's mind control.
He also doesn't even like watermelons. Regular melons are fine, but he'll be reluctant to eat it when there's better grub around.
Although, to be fair, if some gorilla decided to eat my head for no apparent reason, I'd rather it be infront of a large crowd so my death could provide comic relief.

That was my initial thought, too. How replayable is this game? But that's a nonissue for me now that I've played that 1 map 500 times in a row and am about to go back for a 501st.

Has anybody had teamkill wars yet?
I came up with this when my team unexpectedly died right outside of the last checkpoint. Basically, when you spawn, you try to kill everybody else without dieing, getting downed. It's really fun, especially if you add in a computer.
