Oh what the hell!?
I spend more than half my time here being as egotistical as possible, waiting for some thread like this to appear... And when it does, I sleep through the major part of it.
Now I'm stuck here with the dregs of conversation, everyone else has already had their say and it's just a few vocal members regailing each other with tales of past glories...
Despite the whole egotistical thing I mentioned earlier, I don't think it's really my place to say I'm famous or popular, that role would be down to others.
So in that light, I'm going to do that kindness to the other escapists that I think deserve mention (whether or not they have already been mentioned)
Fish Food Carl: Sandwich review, one of the three original "smiley avatar people" that I liked. Gonzo (though that in itself has stopped meaning anything)
The Ghost of Sin:
I'm not sure how much of this is John Lennon, but I stick by my statement of "pure molten awesome." And You're gonzo now, I can't remember when that happened.
Xtiel and Crimson5pheonix: I honestly can't remember much about you two before, but now you're the escapist's own Yin and Yang, so that's something. I don't buy into the whole Holly thing though, consider me Ebenezer scrooge if you must, but I'm forced to say "Bah Humbug."
Jim_Doki: Because if I close my eyes, I can imagine him with a handlebar moustache, and it is awesome.
Ares Tyr: Despite the whole "Oh god my eyes! Put a shirt on!" thing, Ares Tyr is/was/will again be one of the more intelligent and insightful posters here, plus I like to pretend he really is Bob Ross from beyond the grave... A shirtless Bob Ross...
Khell Sennet: One of the posters I was aware of before joining, and therefore one of the posters that compelled me to join in the first place, which is saying something, as that group of people is pretty small.
Joe: I know him only as stories around the campfire told by the "oldies" to the "young'uns" whenever they speak up a bit too much, but I will say this, I am partial to a good old fashioned moustache, and his avatar certainly has one of the best.
Nilcypher and Wilson, or alternatively the hybrid of the two I imagined which I called Wilcypher: Most of the time I dread your appearance, as I assume it means that whatever thread I was posting in is gonna get locked, but it is somewhat endearing to see when you take part in the thread instead. Oh and Nilcypher is British, which earns him extra "awesome points."
PurpleRain: I'm sure he's already been told by others how awesome he is, so I won't bother. But I think it shows something about his immense popularity that he can get away with some pretty heinous spelling and not be ridiculed by the escapist at large like anyone else would. It probably helped that he started the pictures please thread, and then dominated it with his own sexy visage.
Ultrajoe: I'm not going to say anything, as I'm sure there is a point in popularity when you get extremely bored with all the constant devotion, and I believe that such is his popularity that Ultrajoe may well have reached that point.
Larenxis: One of the "She's a girl?" people, luckily not one of the ones that I publicly proclaimed as otherwise. I view her as a more "behind the scenes" sort of Popularity. She doesn't appear much, to the point that I'm sure there are a few people who were scratching their heads and wondering who she was when she appeared in this thread. But by no means does that make her unpopular.
Decoy Doctorpus: Another one like Khell, his words alone compelled me to take the plunge and delve into the scary world of Internet forums.
Darth Mobius The third "maybe I should join up" person. It might have been the avatar, but thoughts along the lines of "maybe I can be like him some day" were a major factor in the whole joining thing.
Anarchemitis (I can spell it without looking now): The avatar is great, though I still see the beard as part of his neck. I value his views even if I don't always agree. It might be the avatar warping my views, but I see him as one of the more intelligent fellows here. Definitely one of the users that cause me to jump into a thread if I see his name.
Baby tea: That was you? You started that thread? Well, I suppose you are famous in a sense then, as "why all the hate?" is now a saying here on the escapist, or at least it's what comes to mind for me whenever I see a thread with similar features.
Indigo Dingo:
This might be more infamy than fame, but when I see the words "PS3", "which console is the best" or "Red ring of death", I think "Indigo Dingo."
Secret Taco Ninja: Another "She's a girl?" poster. Understandably, I like the word "Ninja" and I like Tacos, and I assume I'm not alone in this.
Taxi Driver: I... *lip quivers* I miss him so much...

NewClassic (thought I had forgotten about you eh?): Added the word "triumvirate" to my vocabulary, I think NewClassic has done enough to be considered famous, or at least as close to famous as you can get on an Internet forum. Though I wish he'd stop stalking people, and locking me in closets with him.
Jobz: Apologies to Arab_De_Magnifico (or however you spell it), but you're the more well known south park avatared escapist. Plus you're from Jamaica, and have awesome hair. If that's not enough to make you famous to the rest of the escapist, then I have this to say to them.

The_Root_of_all_evil: Ah... My dear Root. We've had a few troubles in the past haven't we? Well now you're a news fellow, so I'd say you're famous. The fact that there was a thread for your birthday should show how well we all think of you here.
Mischer... Mischerbat... (Well you know who I mean): You scare the crap out of me. But I'd say you're pretty well known, though I get the feeling you don't care.
Labyrinth: One of the few girls that I didn't have a revelatory "What the hell? Why is Larenxis referring to himself as a she?" moment for. Well done.
I get the feeling that if we met in real life, you would kill me and sacrifice me to some kind of nameless, tentacled god. I'd say you're pretty famous here, though I'm not sure what for exactly.
Jamanticus: I view Jamanticus as an equal, so I'd have to see what others say about me before I say anything about how popular you are. But I love the fractals.
Jumplion You like handlebar moustaches, I like handlebar moustaches. I'm sure others here like them too, so you must have some kind of following.
Necroswanson: I put you in my comic, you put me in a poster, Yay us! The bleeding Alice has to garner some attention, and you've been here for more than a year now, so I'd say you're a forum celebrity.

The Iron Ninja: He's creative and funny and he's got a flair for drawing that I certainly envy......Plus, if I say he's famous on the Escapist, that means I am too (although I wouldn't need that condition to call said Ninja famous- it just helps)!
