No, nor do I seek to be. This may explain why until quite recently I set my avatar to a blank white square - I wanted my opinion to be judged not some virtual extension of my persona to be marketed. However, I recently set it to my NXE avatar because I posted in a thread where you had to describe the person above you in < 4 words.
Actually, I'm slightly over-stating things, as I don't really need to have my opinions judged... or even read. That's right, my primary motivation is to simply express myself on random topics of someone else's choosing to help me better organize and express my thoughts. I could blog, but I think that it rather unhealthily narcissistic and I think I would feel that everything I was writing was going into a cold vacuum - at least I pretend to myself that someone might be aware of my contribution - which might explain why I embed pictures.

I doubt anyone knows who I am and I'm really not bothered about it either. I come to forums to stare at the menagerie of avatars and read controversial opinions of people with too much time on there hands.
Though when you think about it you can't call being well known on a forum "famous" more like popular in the sense of its use in high school.
The ones who are apparently famous on Escapist are those that post in the RPG forums and I really don't "get" how those threads are entertaining.
The cool kids to me are the ones who stir up shit in off-topic; makes for interesting reading.

I do enough being famous in real life, but if I was that famous on these boards, I think I'd have to seriously reevaluate my life and priorities.
