If we're talking FPS games, then I can only do M/K. I can't wrap my mind around the dual-analog bullshit. Metroid Prime wasn't bad, but compensating with autotargeting was probably the way to go for that.

But most other games (with some exceptions) are fine for console controls. But fuck console FPS games.

Depends on the game, assins creed I found much easyer with a controller but when it comes to FPS With a controller Im a complete retard , its even more annoying when you get laughed at for it

I chose both because I'm best with a controller, but I can still do alright with a keyboard. If I played more keyboard-utilizing games, I might be able to say I'm fluent in it, but for the time being I'm only technically "fluent" in controllers.

Keyboard only ? Can do.
Keyboard+mouse ? Even better.
Joystick ? Wheel and pedals ? Other stuff ? Occasionally. Depends on game.

Console controller ? Hell no, get it away from me, I can't stand that thing for anything except (J)RPGs.
And I'd still prefer mouse+keyboard there too.

Too many possible controls on a much too small total surface, no natural position for proper wrist rest, too inaccurate for precision work or if somewhat accurate too slow for things that need doing fast... and I could go on and on and on and on about the things I hate about handheld controllers of most kinds.

I wouldn't say fluent in M/K, I hit the e button when I want the r and my aiming on the mouse needs work. Thats why I usually play pyro, I don't have to be as accurate.

im good with both and use both, i can see why some games just ARE better with m/k, however with alot of games i prefer controller, they are built around it and its just so comfortable and relaxing, however about 50/50 of my games are controller/MK so im pretty good with both.

Depends on the game really. General rule of thumb for me is that I prefer my PC for FPS and RTS games and consoles for most other types of gaming.

i'm about the same, I didn't say it in first post but I am slightly okay with 360 controller, I did come in first place my first Halo 3 match but it took a bit of adjustion, but then soon I became good at using. This is probably because since I don't own a 360 I am not used to it.

I vary between both the xbox and my computer so I'd say I'm pretty fluid in both.

I tend to switch between both pretty often when I'm really bored.

Definitely fluent in any type of controller, but I wouldn't say completely so with M/K. I do fine with point and click stuff, but I've always hated using WASD and such.

Thanks to my absolutely awful desk space, aiming with a mouse is completely out of the question unless I turn the sensitivity way up, but then I fail to click properly on anything. I'm okay with it in Diablo and various RTS games, though. Besides, the RTS genre is simply incompatible with a console controller. Halo Wars did okay, but I think it's mainly due to the game's relative simplicity. Try playing Red Alert 3 on a console (which tries to emulate Halo Wars' controls), and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

(Also, as an aside, Red Alert 3 should never be played in a 640x480 resolution. Can't read a damn thing. I wonder why I ever did it in Red Alert 2 even though my computer was perfectly capable for 800x600 when RA2 came out.)

Otherwise, I'll stick with the controller. It's what I've grown up with, thanks. (Even for Doom on PC, I used a joystick.)
