Nintendo do it all the time remakes and reboots.PrototypeC said:Since when has a reboot gone swimmingly and turned out something truly great? I'm wondering if that has ever happened.
It's not a reboot. At all. This is just the original CE with a new renderer and higher detail assets, and 343's upcoming Halo trilogy will act as in-universe sequels to Halo 3.PrototypeC said:They WHAT.
Um, wha, so basically I thought that Microsoft had squeezed all the fan money out of the Halo franchise, but then they pull the inevitable reboot?! Not to dampen anyone's enthusiasm or anything, but I don't see this going anywhere good. Since when has a reboot gone swimmingly and turned out something truly great?
Wait, wait, wait... what? You call yourself a shameless Halo fanboy and yet you have never completed the original Halo? Shameless you are my good sir, but little else!jackpackage200 said:I am going to buy because I never completed it on the original xbox and also I am a shameless Halo fanboy. Are you getting Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary?
If you only want the multi-player. The Online multi-player for the Anniversary Edition is using the Halo Reach engine and will be part of the Halo Reach playlists. Pretty sure it was announced that the maps from Anniversary will also be available as DLC for those who have Reach and don't want to by Anniversary.natster43 said:As I say with every Halo game. Maybe if it is cheap, but probably not. I do not actually care for the story, I mean I may like it if I played it, but really I only want it for the Multiplayer stuff. Which really isn't worth 50 dollars in my opinion.
Im sick of stupid brown shooters with their fucking shoes, sereiously ever since Shoes where used in games everyone just copys them, some people in my school wont even play some games because they have no shoes!Tharwen said:Of course it did! I'll just have to settle with a Halo 1 + 2 boxed set off Amazon, and then collapse into fits of nostalgia and joy.
Also, has anyone else noticed an uncanny resemblance between the beginning of Halo 1 and RAGE?![]()

What made the connection for me is the immediate 'look up and down, now would you like to reverse the controls?' bit.Cpu46 said:Ummmmmmm, no not really. Aside from the fact that both include waking up from cryogenic storage and a pistol is your first weapon they are quite different.Tharwen said:Also, has anyone else noticed an uncanny resemblance between the beginning of Halo 1 and RAGE?
Err. How about a handshake and a co-op invite instead.Proverbial Jon said:Well call me a graphics whore and slap my be-hind
