Poll: Are you getting the Resident Evil 4 HD release on the xbla/psn?

No, I have the gamecube version and if I were to buy any other one it would be the Wii version for superior controls. Not the same controls but better graphics for my PS3.

can someone tell me if this new version is based off the ps2/pc games? ie: with all the extra assignment ada stuff? If so, yes I'll buy it again. The version I have currently is the gc one which lacked a lot of that. I bought it on release day (But I am hardcore RE fan.)

As much as I love the series, I have to agree. RECV was where things started to get plain silly, especially with the ridiculous plot device known as Wesker and his AMAZING SPECIAL POWERS. Oh dear. From that point on, all things RE started going down the shitter for me.

Don't even get me started on RE0's AWFUL retcon and villain. A man made out of leeches? Get the fuck out.

Agreed. Code Veronica was good (imo). It had a cool place to run around, and enough quirky characters and fancy conspiracy stuff to be exciting.

I'm one of those who found RE:4 to be a HUGE letdown. The plot was unexciting, the action was too actiony to be survival horror but too crappy to be real action...and...MEH...what a letdown. I actually bought a gamecube only for the RE1 remake. And it didnt dissapoint. Man I love that game.

It'll be a nice cheap trip down memory lane until Christmas, which with my current lack of a job is evidently the next time I'll be playing a new game. Resident Evil 4 was awesome, playing the enhanced PS2 version was aweosme, playing it again on Wii was aweosme. Wow, I just realised I'm about to buy this game again. I have every version including the PC release... well fuck me I obviously love this game enough already.

All you missed out on really was probably the most overrated game of last generation.
It's not really bad or anything, it's just not halloween xmas & new years rolled into one like everybody says.
That said, the Wii version didn't bore me to death: I guess the motion controls make a big difference with that one.

Most likely yeah, 5 was the only one I ever played, but my cousin is an avid resident evil fan, and like alot of other people, insists 4 is a crazy awesome entry in the series, which gameplay video's seem to imply.


So yeah, that's enough reason for me.
