My original DS is working just fine for me. It's not like I need some useless little gimmicks to play Chrono Trigger.

It seems Nintendo's success of the DS [lite] is leading to a failure of the DSi...

I intend to buy one partially for the nifty Nintendo store and then partially because I just have disposable income.
And I want a black DS.

No, for 3 words: Waste of Money.

I own a DSlite and is the first system I've gotten for myself, and I rarely play it anymore. Adding a camera and taking away the GBA slot is a bad move. Why not sell a camera attachment like they did with the gameboy color? I mean, they HAVE done it before...

My friend was invited by the local GAME store to go to the midnight launch of the DSi and he's well pleased with it.

Don't think i'll be buying one though. I've still got my original DS from March 11th 05 when it was released in England. =P

Nah, I already have a DSlite and to be honest I don't see the point in having a camera on a DS. I wanna play games with it, not take pictures. Plus no backward compatibility? Fail.

I've got the DS lite, the backwards compatibility is a plus. That's the main thing keeping me from trading it in for the DSi.

probably not the DSi is a gigantic gimmick and until something irresistable comes out for it, my DS lite workds just fine

I already own a DS lite. The DSi just isn't a sufficiently substantial upgrade to justify the expense.

I love my DS lite, but I think I'll umm... wait for more colors.
Which is really just what I'm telling myself so my baser consumer instincts don't trick me into buying one of those trendy pieces of crap.

I said "maybe". I have a DS lite already, whether I upgrade largely depends on what kind of trade in they offer, and if there are any improvements to portable games themselves reliant on the DSI technology that impress me enough to go "OMG, I must play that".

Truthfully though I don't see that happening, but it's always possible.

I might pick it up in the future, but I always wait for a few games to get run through it before I consider buying anything over $100

It could be great
It could be crap

only time will tell and judging a system before it gets out is pointless, it will only make you a fanboy or make you a total troll and miss out on a gem or two

even the PSP had a redeeming quality...large screen?...

ok the SEGA NOMAD, for instance, everyone is like that's gonna fail and I owned one for years, it kicked ass, you could carry it in a separate backpack and it was the size of a red house brick, I think it was before its time and in the future everything will be the size of a brick and play games from the council therefore never missing out on the better format. If Splinter cell would have worked that way I would be playing it right now...on my hand brick...on an island with women

I only just got a DSlite a few months ago so I don't plan to pick up the DSi, though I kinda wish I had waited for it.

It's true that there are a lot of garbage titles for the DS but that's just because it's so popular. Technically I believe it's now the highest selling game system of all time. It's hard to call that just a fad.
