Anyway, my girlfriend has pre-ordered it. I'll be picking it up for her tomorrow afternoon.

It looks good, I'd probably have waited personally but she was keen and we both love LotR so it seems like a good buy.

While it could surprise me and be great, I'm expecting yet another bad Lord of the Rings game that features dumbed down mechanics, repetitive combat and a complete and utter lack of a driving narrative. I'll wait for the reviews, though.

Preordered on Steam and its now preloaded onto my laptop.

Thing that touched me over the edge was getting to play a demo version at the MCM Expo yesterday.

Actually, the release date for it in the EU is November 4.

According to Steam, War in the North unlocks in 1 say 13 hours (at time of writing) which puts it to unlocking on November 1st.

Also for reasons unknown to me, and by extension everyone else, the UK is getting retail releases on November 25.

Totally. I've been waiting for a game like this. I'm just a little nervous that it may let me down, but come on. 3 player online co op. That's a good sticking point for me.

Going to rent it first and see what I think. I don't think I will pay full money for it though, definately a bargain bin or pre owned purchase for me.
