Well i for one am getting Portal 2. Why you ask? For the complete nutbag that is Portal. Portal 1 was a game that started as a test was funny, popular, and created the joke of lying about cake. Yes the promise of cake and a cube that will show unconditional love. Tasty love cake.... oh wait thats not what I meant perv.

Portal 2 looks to continue the fun by making a campaign that you don't need a friend and can still have the dark humor. not that this a spoiler because thats all is in the trailers. Then you have Co Op.... WITH THE BEST CREATION POSSIBLE MOTHER EFFING ROBOTS! Yes our 2 robots can throw caution to the wind because being robots you never need to worry bout death especially with GlaDos watching over you right? Right?...... Oh dear um wellllllllll never mind about no caution because it looks like the grand pervert GlaDos was spawned from the director in "Man Hunt."

I am defiantly getting this for the twisted humor, the puzzles, to learn more about the story line, and then most importantly to finally figure out if the cake is really a lie.... but by this point I guess the cake would have de solved by now because of the elements.

That question is a bit redundant. It would be like saying: "Are you planing on breathing tomorrow?" I'm gonna get it.

Yep, Portal was the only Valve game I enjoyed so I hope Portal 2 lives up to it's predecessor.

I will check out reviews and whatnot, but I have faith in Valve. Since when have they let me down before right? I just don't want to get a game that is only four hours long and has co-op available, I just don't have many friends to play with.

Nope. Didn't really like the first one all that much so no real point in getting this one.
BLASPHEMY!
I got the cross and nails all ready......

anyway if I can afford it...Im planning on gettign DA2 so Prbably not at the time...*sigh* I hate having to avoid any info on hot new titles, especially this one since its all anyones going to be talking about, also if people hate it like DA2 it can sort of taint my enjoyment

but thats just me I hope protal 2 lives up to people expectations, I just hope the main story gets a good run since they seem to focus alot on co-op in the promotions

hmmm well keeping my hopes down I would expect the main story wouldnt be that long (they seem to be focusing on co-op for the promotions)

as for me I think this is the only game I would ever by with a short single player (assuming it has one) I am willign to make an exception for Valve and Portal

Homefront on the other hand....*sigh* broke my heart

I agree, well I would also buy MvC3 and that game has like no single player content.

OT: I pre-ordered the discs from amazon. Release date delivery woo!

I've heard a bunch of disappointing things about that game. Its not like it had dump truck loads of potential to waste, they just sunk their own submarine because of poor delivery and a short campaign.

OT: Now that I think about it, I might just take a leap of faith here and purchase it when it comes out without reading reviews or critic scores. I know Valve doesn't release garbage and I don't think they intend to start now.

I don't know, I've got a niggling fear that it might be a Bioshock 2 style cash-in. I'll wait for more information to come out about the game before I make a decision.

Considering how I don't like many Valve games (I hate TF2, really the only Valve game I like is HL2) and I didn't much like the first portal game. Actually, it was okay, just not "the greatest game ever made" as so many people tend to say. I'm also rather annoyed about the whole "cake is a lie" fad. Yes, we understand that she wasn't telling the truth (even though there was cake) but frankly it just got extremely old and annoying. In conclusion, probably not gonna buy until Steam has it on major sale. I'd rather just save my money for a game with a plot and at least some attempts at characterization. Really, the only voice you hear in the first one is Glados and that's mostly just her explaining how you should play, telling you you're going to die, blah blah, blah, blah blah. I eventually just turned off the volume because her comments weren't witty and her attempts at comedy had no effect on me whatsoever.

It would be silly to assume you, who evidently did not particularly enjoy the first game, would read up on the sequel, so I will take the liberty of telling you that allegedly (from the mouth of Valve) Portal 2 has a much bigger emphasis on story, characterization, environment, puzzle difficulty, and overall length. This has been evidenced by the personality cores and rumoured voice actors, so I would suggest keeping an open ear to the reviews post release, because I believe many of your concerns will be addressed and fixed.

Good day to you.
