Poll: Are you going to RISK buying Mass Effect 3?

All the information that has been released officially and unofficially.(Game mechanics, plot points, multiplayer, characters, Previous Choices, Controversial News.)

The past experiences with the Companies involved.(Origin, , DA2, TOR, ME2)

The amount of extra marketing and cross promoting that has been done. (DLC in FIgurines, Day 1 DLC, Collectors Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition Differences)


For Clarity's sake, this poll assumes everyone voting in it is aware that Risk means the game might not satisfy you.

EDIT: Also, I'll be playing on 360 so Origin doesn't enter in to it. I enjoyed DA2 so there's no "Bioware has a shitty track record" element for me. I don't care about the Day 1 DLC or the figurines, I'm not getting the figures because they're over priced and the DLC is fine by me.

I was always going to buy it, the question is which "limited edition" version? EA are a pack of greedy arseholes but I'm not going to let them ruin for me something I've been enjoying a series I've put a lot of time into.

Nope, I have no interest in buying this game. I didn't even buy the second one.

Right now there are only a couple big AAA games this year that I want to pick up and I'm not even sure when those are being released.

I wouldn't say buying Mass Effect 3 constitutes more of a risk than buying any other game I haven't played before, probably less.

I've played the two previous games in the series and enjoyed them immensely.

Bioware is a developer with a proven track record of releasing high-quality games. Some see Dragon Age 2 as a disaster, but I enjoyed it for the most part.

I'm playing on Xbox, so Origin isn't an issue as far as ME3 is concerned.

As for all the DLC and iOS content, it's not what I want to see, but at the same time it appears superfluous. Not having it will most likely not hamper my enjoyment of the game on the disk, and from what I can tell from the noises Bioware are making it's not required to get the 'best' conclusion to the saga. Nobody's forcing it on me, so I'm exercising my ability to ignore it for the time being.

So yeah, right now I see my pre-order of ME3 to be the safest risk I've taken recently.

What is it with you guys? A lot of you are fear mongering a game that isn't even out yet. "Risk buying Mass Effect 3"? Jesus Christ you're acting like the game is going to eat your soul if you catch something wrong with it.

As for EA, I could care less about what they do. If they have DLC that's somewhat interesting to me, I'll buy it. If it isn't interesting I won't. Sorry that I'm doing business with a corporation that's supposedly evil because they want to make a profit.

The game is fun. I'm going to buy it, even though I think the Day 1 DLC is bullshit. You people are overreacting as usual, no one flipped their shit when they did the exact same thing for Sebastian (Who admittedly was a pretty shitty character) in Dragon Age 2.

Main Difference is that I am stating about the Risk, so I can throw it in peoples faces when the inevitable threads of "WAAAAH I BOUGHT MASS EFFECT AND IT SUCKS EA CHEATED ME" pop up,I can get on my high horse and point them to the choices they had.

Its about letting entitled kids know that they are responsible for their decisions and they cant blame anyone but themselves if things dont turn out the way the little buggers want.

Yeah, there's always a chance a game will suck. But my immense enjoyment of Mass Effect 1 and 2 and the fact that mostly the same people are involved in making the 3rd game, plus my desire to see the story come to its conclusion... all that means that I'm buying it.
