I will continue to support the consoles until the last console generation, whenever that is. I am not going to buy the rumor mill on this one because people tend to believe the rumors if they support their preconceived notions of the world. All this stuff about nerfing Used games sales is one example of that. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and whoever else are not going to do that because it would be a stupid move and only diehard PC heads are saying stuff like that. I guess its wishful thinking on their part because it would somehow vindicate them.
More importantly, the companies will not need to. The direction that console makers will go down is digital distribution, and Sony and Microsoft are already doing some of that.
I'm not sure if PC gaming is making a huge comeback as people are claiming. PC games sales are always a tenth of what the consoles will sell, mostly because of the piracy issue. I get that it is not as big as I might think, but as long as it is an issue, gaming companies will be weary about going totally on the PC once again. Sorry, but as long as 95 percent of the community plays a pirated game instead of purchasing it, it will remain an issue.
About the only people that love the PC are the modders and modding is only a tenth of the PC gaming community. They are a loud and vocal minority, but they are still a minority.
