I don't have many deep conversations with my friends, but when I do, they are mindbending.

I'm 31 and seriously I always gotten along better with older folks. With them, conversation ranges from movie references, art, history, litterature, older games, personnal experiences, jobs, politics, and tons of topics that I very rarely engage with younger folks.
I really don't want to dismiss kids nowadays, but you don't know shit on shit about any shit. Do not take it the wrong way: my college teachers used to tell us the exact same thing: "You guys nowadays take pride in NOT reading books!"
Perfect example: I can't make a joke about to a young adult about Chewbacca and pubic hair: because they won't know who Chewie is, don't know what pubic means and they all shave their balls nowadays anyway.

Thats why they are my friends. I cant stand dribble coming out of people's mouths. So when i pick my friends they have to be intelligent. So yea our conversations are fairly intelligent and high quality.

I enjoy my conversations with my friends still *thankfully* and I'm sure they enjoy it as well, or else they wouldn't really talk about much of the things we talk about. It all ranges from movies, to games, to sex, to the lack thereof of the previous one, to events, to food, to life in general, to just messing around. I love hanging out with my friends, its always a great time.

I just wish I knew more people sometimes since my friends aren't ALWAYS available.

I mostly never talk in real life,i would sometimes i never say a word in school.

While in video games i'm more open, usually talk a lot.

One reason i can think of is that since have difficulty speaking Serbian(native language) and perfectly speaking English(Serbian standards also speak not write)I'm afraid if people in real life will always haunt me because i said a word differently.

My ability to converse with people in the real world is truly abysmal, hence why I'm on the internet.
Pretty much this. Internet conversations are fine, though.
Yeah, I'll third this. Lately talking to my friends (which is mostly now purely online or via text due to now living mostly further away from each other) has degenerated to , *receive "Lol" as reply*

I'm in second year post-secondary, and unfortunately I still haven't really made any friends here(Ok, not true, I made ONE friend, but I haven't seen much of him lately)

I was following you until you mentioned Chewbacca and shaving balls. I am pretty sure that most people, regardless of age, will know who Chewbacca is..and..I am not even going to begin with the testicle shaving business. :D

I have excellent conversations with my friends and partners. That's part of the reason they're my friends.

I'm very happy with the quality of conversation with my friends.

Of course at the moment I only have one real friend and he's a philosophy nut and a massive nerd meaning we have intelligent conversations on alot of stuff.

Actually, considering most of the people I speak to on a daily basis are studying engineering, law or earth sciences they're an incredibly funny and mad bunch of people.

But of course, still usually having intellingent conversations. Usually.

As a rule, I try to only spend time with people who can have intelligent conversations. I figure if they can't enrich my life somehow or I can't enrich theirs it's wasted time. At the same time though, some of my friends are not overly intelligent, but still have an interesting perspective or experience to contribute.

I have some friends whom I have truly grand conversations with. However, I also have some with whom I can only discuss interests. It is an odd situation, where we both just accept the awkwardness of it. Still, I've been trying to find what it is that makes it so hard for us to have deeper conversations.
