I will take that bet, sir, and direct you to the nearest Disney movie that stars a dog.Blemontea said:I bet you ... something.... that given enough time a dog could drive a car.
Well, technically I did ask a question, quite a few in fact. I wasn't really seeking a "correct" answer. I wanted to see how people would respond. I kept it vague because of how specific the adjective "human" is. Basically, I'm not conducting research, I'm not seeking answers, I just wanted to get people to think and hope that they would ask themselves questions about their daily routines.Nailz said:Are you a grapefruit? Yes, no, maybe? I do not mean a physical grapefruit, this is open to interpretation. What makes you believe you are or are not a grapefruit? Are you juicy and full of citrus flavour? Or are you dry and tough.silversnake4133 said:snip
I guess what I'm trying to say is that with the lack of any operational definition herein, basically your not asking a question. Your saying "lets shoot the shit", what will people say? This is fine, but by the very nature of forums, generally speaking we are just "shooting the shit" regardless. Perhaps actually think of a question instead of undefined and meaningless vagueness. Then you can actually guide the conversation somewhere interesting.
1) Are you saying that I'm an anthropoligist student? Because I can honestly say I've never studied antrhopology in depth (we've had some superficial classes on it in social studies, however).conflictofinterests said:WAH WAH ANTHROPOLOGIST STUDENT WAH WAHMr.Squishy said:Yes.
Now please stop this existential bullshit. I just got back from philosophy group with a guy who never grew out of the sulky teenager (faux)misanthropical mindset.
"Wah wah humans aren't worth anything, wah wah animals are better".
And a human-centric *****.
"Wah wah humans are claerly superior, wah wah, IQ and 'LOVE', wah wah"
Murderous rage doesn't even come close to my feelings on the matter.
Besides, what the hell does it matter?
As a species, as soon as we got the intelligence for it we've kind of always been asking the question "what does it mean to be human?" Yeah on a level knowing the answer probably won't effect your day-to-day life all that much. But on another level, understanding it could help with interpersonal interactions, something our species is almost ENTIRELY dependent on. Except for a few hermits.
