I have always wondered why no one has ever though to send a tethered probe into the unknown. I mean, you could get really good data if you could scan the planet first. (I always thought that would be an incredible way to get readings out of a blackhole). Would be funny if everyone left to the new world and found that it could actually suck worse than Earth A (yeah go figure heh)

Does Earth B have intelligent life? If yes, and if they are friendly, then yes, I'd probably go to earth B, just to learn about another culture completely alien to mine.

If there is no intelligent life on Earth B, then fuck no, I would hate being alone in the wilderness with feral aliens.

Moving to Earth B, gonna carve out a nation there for myself by the name of Skaro.
So... you're just going to Exterminate everything on Earth B?
Pretty much yeah, it's gonna be awesome as soon as I clear everyhing and everyone out.
Ermm.... sorry to be the bringer of bad news... but Daleks don't have hands... how will you build stuff? :p
Slave labor, now get back to building our new base human slave!
This is the thanks I get for finding the portal. Fine... Wasn't hoping i'd have to resort to this. *Pulls out sonic screwdriver and enters TARDIS*

Would this work...? It would surely need a physical connection between the camera sent through and the portal, and the video display on Earth A.

Would also be extremely useful to see what, if anything, was on the other side.

Of course there would need to be a physical connection to the probe that was being sent into the unknown. However, if it was a blackhole I was trying to survey, I would surley make sure that the cable is able to have a manual disconnect.. JUST in case it starts reeling your vessel into the dark unknown. But yeah, a radio type connection would likely be lost through distortion and god knowns what kind of interference, so a physical cable/wire would need to connected to it, to ensure that the data can be verified.
