Free to do *what*? You gain a number of rights via marriage (such as the right to visit your unconscious spouse in the hospital and shared custody of any minor children) and as far as I can tell you don't lose any.dalek sec said:Nope and I never plan on it either, I like being free.
As in free to do what I want, don't have someone bothering me things. I'm a loner alright?JMeganSnow said:Free to do *what*? It'd be more accurate to say that you don't want to have to worry about someone's potential disapproval.
That's why most people marry someone who wants them to do what they want to do. Why would you want to marry someone who doesn't like what you do? Foolishness.dalek sec said:As in free to do what I want, don't have someone bothering me things. I'm a loner alright?JMeganSnow said:Free to do *what*? I'm sorry. That whole thing can be rough on both parties. I know.

I'm in college now and I can't say I'm looking for anything serious unless the right one is dropped right into my lap.
Love is great, honestly. I used to love being with my high school girlfriends more than anything and I was always 100% faithful to them.
But then I woke up and realized, truly, there is no one at my age even close to being trustworthy; that I'd turn my back and she'd be messing with someone else, using my money and occasionally paying attention to me.
But I'm bitter, so hey.
I think maturity sets in with age and with age is when girls grow into women. That's when I'd imagine they're ready for marriage; when I'll be ready for it.
I don't see the point in you bothering me over my choice, I don't want to get married or anything like that and that's final. I fail to see how my choice could harm you in any way shape or formJMeganSnow said:That's why most people marry someone who wants them to do what they want to do. Your choice bothers me not at all--I don't expect ever to get married, myself. It doesn't seem worth the legal hassle to get hitched (and then probably later get un-hitched), particularly given the state of the legal system. I just find your reasoning to be specious because a married person does not have any less "freedom" than an unmarried one, although some of their actions may have *different* consequences given their legal status.dalek sec said:I don't see the point in you bothering me over my choice, I don't want to get married or anything like that and that's final. I'm not married, single and I plan on keeping it that way.JMeganSnow said:Your choice bothers me not at all--I don't expect ever to get married, myself.
