Poll: Are you more attracted to women/men of your own ethnicity than those outside it?

Being white and in arizona means that women of my own ethnicity tend to be one of four things:
1)complete bitches
2)pretending to be another ethnicity
3)already knocked up by some hispanic dude
4)creepy as all hell.
and sometimes a combination of 1,3, and 4

... I think OP has confused 'ethnicity' with 'race'. Ethnic groups are defined by a particular language (hence why you have ethnic Russians in former Soviet-bloc countries who identify more with being Russian than say, Latvian, Estonian or Ukrainian etc.), specific geographic origin (e.g. the dozens of different ethnic groups in China), traditions and religion (sorry, no example there). Races are typically defined by genetic markers that have discrete phenotypes.

Thus, I'm ethnically Yue, but racially Sino.

Anyway, in both cases: no. It's the eyes... *shrug* though to be fair, Zhao Wei is a very attractive woman and if she walked up to me and (in Cantonese... ¬_¬) wanted to *insert m/f associated activity here* I'd say yes without a second thought.

However, all my girlfriends have been Caucasian (one Brit, one Mediterranean and one German) even though I have been attracted to a fair few Indian subcontinental people.

Not sure what that says about me...

My own, by a vast majority really. There are several billion people of ethnicities I've yet to be really physically attracted to. Nothing conscious, but there's something about the general outline of the face that I seem to find unattractive.

Well sort of. I generally more attracted to Caucasians but that?s not to say I don?t find anyone from other ethnicities attractive. I generally like dark hair and light eyed guys.

Considering my dating track record... I must've been trying to collect 'the whole set' at one point. I've dated just about every kind of major race except an Aboriginal chick(aren't too many of them in the states). Honestly, Asian girls, Jewish girls, Hispanic, Native American, White, Black, dated them all.
Really, if I'm honest with myself the only thing that's a common thread with women I've dated/attracted to is that they are fairly close to my age and have big breasts.

Though I did marry a woman of the same race as myself, though she is from a different continent for whatever that counts for.

OK. First off, I'm white, so this question would be about white girls versus non-white girls for me.

It depends on what you mean by "more" in this question. If you mean it as in "Do I find a larger amount of people of my own ethnicity attractive versus the amount of people of other ethnicities?" I would say yes. However, if you're going by "more attractive" then I have to mention that I find Halle Berry much more attractive than a whole lot of white girls.

I think what causes people to be attracted to other ethnicities or their own, is the people they grew up with. For example, I grew up in a primarily white area, but a lot of asian people went to my school. So it comes as no surprise that I'm mostly attracted to white and asian peoples. However, I'm more attracted to white people as opposed to asians. And by that I mean, I check out white people more than asian people. So, yeah, I think you're more attracted to your ethnicity as well as the ethnicities you grew up with.

Strangely, I'm mostly gay (and male) and I find men that are the same ethnicity as me more attractive (generally), yet on the rare chance that I do like women, they are usually of another ethnicity. Hmm.

I'm white and I like very pale-white girls. Not sure why. I occasionally find girls of any ethnicity to be cute, but for the most part I tend to ignore physical appearances of strangers. I just don't really give a damn.

I prefer my own ethnicity. But I do not rule others out, but they tend to be fuck ugly in comparison. I live in Sweden for fucks sake. Call me a racist but most things south of Denmark are fucking ugly(even the danes are ugly), especially when they come from south of the equator. Yuck. There are however exceptions ofcourse. But few.

Yeaaah...At the risk of sounding like an even bigger racist...black women tend to be a boner-killer for me. Asian women are meh, can be attractive, but I'm definitely the most attracted to caucasian women. Keep in mind, it's not a conscious choice, I just measure the level of attraction I feel. Keep in mind exceptions exist.

More attracted to my own ethnicity. Not that I find any women of another ethnicity explicitly unattractive. I do find some to be attractive as well. Also, there are women of my own ethnicity who I find unattractive.

So, I prefer white to non-white, but non-white is still good. I also prefer short to tall, blonde to redhead, and "athletic" to super-skinny. None of those are really "dealbreakers" or requirements, however.

I remember reading somewhere that there's some biology and social functions behind that. Like rudimentary "familiar=good, different=bad" stuff from hunter-gatherer days, as well as Freudian stuff like "looks like mommy". But, meh, I likes what I likes, and I don't feel a need to apologize for that.

They do exist, though -- and I'm talking natural red hair, not a dye job. But yes, exceedingly rare.
