I am indeed. Although I have this horrible feeling that the game might be a little bit too short/easy. But that's just my pessimism kicking in.

I never pre-order (dumbest consumer habit ever) but I'm about as psyched as I can be. Crossing my fingers to hear the game is finished and stable, and reviews find Arkane's promises being held.
Maybe it's different where you are, but I pre-order stuff, then when the reviews come out I decide whether to cancel or to go through with the purchase. I never have to pay for a pre-order upfront.

I only pre-order to get the bonuses. It helps that I'm in Europe and since all the releases come out later, and reviews usually coincide with American releases, that I always have a few days to make my mind up.

I do think that buying a game purely from pre-release hype is silly, mind.

OT: Anyhow, I am going to pre-order it tomorrow, and I reckon the first reviews will probably hit tommorrow evening, or at latest Tuesday, so I'll have till Friday to decide if I want to get it or not.

It will be an amazing game IF they can deliver all the promises that they're making.

The game looks like it could be good, but something about the way it has been marketed suggests that it will turn out to be a mediocre game.

But what is disconcerting is not the premise, so much as who is making it. After skyrim and new vegas, I know they are different types of games, but...
Bethesda are not making it. Just like they did not make New Vegas.

Bethesda are the publisher not the developer, just like they were with New Vegas, which Obsidian made.

Honestly, how do people not know this yet?
Because people don't WANT to know.

I'm being a bit cautious and waiting off to see the initial reaction. I think it looks like fun, but I hear it's quite a short game and also the gameplay doesn't look particularly original. Happy to be proven wrong though.

I really want it to be good, but because of Rage and Brink I'm not pre-ordering it.

While the style and gameplay look really good, I don't want to pay 60 dollars for something that might turn out to be less than 8 hours long.

Plus, I really can't tell much from the trailers. I mean, you have magic, someone betrayed you, than there's a bunch of clips of you murdering people in a wierd setting. I don't want them to spoil the plot or anything, but it'd be nice to see something more about this world.

Voted indifferent.

The concept sounds pretty good imo, the only issue is, it's suffering a lot hype based marketing. Recent years and big releases have made me overly suspicious of anything that is hyped these days.

Like others have said, will wait for the reviews to come out, then decide if it's worth it or not.

I don't really know much about it and am really not all that interested anyway. It's been difficult finding gameplay...outside of just looking on youtube...you know what, I'll be right back

****

Watched the Golden Cat playthrough and the part where...the player possessed a fish to get into the building. That kind of felt weird to me. I like how the game seems to be made up of open-ended levels which can be tackled by various means. The wide array of play styles and, powers is really appealing to me as well. I just don't like the face that its first person and has a cover mechanic and platforming. Is there an option to toggle between 1st and 3rd person like certain other Bethesda games? Otherwise this looks pretty good but I wouldn't buy it on day one.

Didn't want to make a seperate thread for this. But the reviews are coming in, all of them glowing so I have placed my pre order and am very much looking forward to this. This being the only game I'm interested in until next year, I hope its as good as it looks.

Psyched? I don't know if I'd say that. Interested? Definitely. I'll be getting it one of these days... I seriously doubt I'm buying it at full price.

$60 for a solely single-player game that's 15 hours tops? Hell no I'm not excited for it. It looks fun but I'll wait till the price actually fits the length of the game.

ONLY A FEW MORE DAYS! :D:D:D:D

ahem...

I always thought it looked cool, but wasnt sure. Now the reviews/ a few non-spoilery gameplay videos are out im glad it seems to be turning out well.

Im a big hitman fan so im glad there is finally an alternative to that kind of gameplay (kill target, how is up to you).
