Nope. I just learned it was actually coming out a day or two ago (thanks to me not giving a shit about movies), and I haven't seen the original movie.

Well I think I would watch it when its on the bargain bin or something, just to see how the apes and humans duke it out.

And also the apes look really "fake" which is sad considering theyre using the avatar technology.

Not a fan of Apes movies, modern or original
Not a fan of James Franco

Not even remotely interested in the amalgamation of the two.

No, because it looks like they're completely butchering the premise of the original.
Original: Humans nuke themselves into the stone age, apes evolve to take their place.

This one: genetically engineered intelligent apes rebel against their human creators.
The premise has been done to death by now with robots anyway.

I'm not going to bother watching this film because it's not going to tell us anything we don't already know.

Monkies are inherently evil and are only good for two things: novelty ashtrays and ancient cursed artefacts.

Sigourney Weaver should reprise her role as Dian Fossey and make a sequel: "Gorillas wont be Missed."

Gonna see it because it looks too stupid to miss and I love me some train wrecks. Granted I am going to see it for free so I'm not sure that counts.

Really what the fuck is the threat here? Apes are endangered. Why? HUMANS SHOOT THEM. How is this a hard problem to solve?

PS: Also wtf upside down captchas???

Eh. I am sure I will eventually see it, but I won't give them my money for the opening weekend. I liked the originals. I feel that in originals, it was human greed for pets that screwed them. Now they make it like it isn't the humans fault.

I liked the two original Planet of the Apes. You know, the good ones. I'm not going to see another one of the stupid kind.

Unless it has the real, mummified remains of Charleton Heston...then no.

I'll see it, but probably when it hits the internet. I only saw the original and the remake, and this seems to be a reboot of the series, rather then a prequel. I hate that they are screwing with the story so much, the only common element seems to be that the apes fuck us over.

Seriously, there is maybe one movie every year that I really want to see. I've still not seen any this year. So...no.

I can feel the intellectual property screaming "GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME YOU DAMNED DIRTY FILM COMPANY EXECS!"

I'll probably end up seeing it, though. On free to air TV. I don't like paying for someone doing a rehash of what someone else did.

It just seems so silly. Even if the other Apes became as intelligent as humans, they don't have the numbers to actually overthrow mankind. Also, we have the advantage of actual weapons which they wouldn't be able to use due to difference in physiology.

It's so absurd, but willing suspension of disbelief is a useful thing.
