I'm tired of every TV show still running after they canceled Better off Ted.

I mean, really, if that show doesn't merit more seasons, none of the drivel on now does.
It was an outstanding show and deserved better and mentioning it reminds me how there still hasn't been a season 2 dvd release.

HIMYM, on the other hand, I could really do without. I stopped watching a few seasons in and the last time I tried to watch an episode in syndication the show just seemed tired.

I got sick of it after 5 episodes, really didn't like any of the characters or the premise or the comedy even.

I'm still trying to figure out what this dumb ass show is about. I just end up turning off the tv when it comes on. All these sitcoms need to be taken off the air. I don't understand how people enjoy these shows. They just do random nonsense and laugh at themselves afterwards. Just Why????

I'd rather watch friends and I HATED that show.

That is a great show and I'm surprised there is another fan of it on here haha

OT: I still enjoy watching it but there is the part of me inside that thinks they should actually meet the mother very soon. Sure, there are bad episodes, like the one where he meets the slutty pumpkin but I'm still enjoying season 8. I do hate Ted sometimes though but that may have been mostly because I decided to watch every episode the other summer and everything added up to me hating him (a bit like Cartman in South Park). I'm still waiting for the kids to not even be Ted's and he's just their mother's friend or something.

The idea of this show being what its title implies went out the window about seven seasons ago; so I treat it as a regular sitcom, the end of which I already know. I like the show, but I'm glad this is the final season. I noticed a marked decrease in quality around season four or five.

Unless, somehow, someway... they stretched it into another season. But no. They wouldn't. Would they? They better not. EDIT: They did.

My thoughts on this most recent episode? I thought it was good. Filler perhaps, but a good character episode for Ted.

By the way, why the fuck did they bother trying to Ross-and-Rachel Ted and Robin when Bob Saget always referred to her as "your Aunt Robin?"

Random nonsense? Kind of makes me feel like you don't actually invest any time into watching sitcoms, and pick up what you know of them by watching chronologically-inaccurate reruns.

Also, How I Met Your Mother is basically the same show [http://www.buzzfeed.com/mattcherette/friends-vs-how-i-met-your-mother] as Friends

It's not nearly as good as it used to be. These past two seasons could easily have been one but the mother will definitely be revealed in a matter of episodes so that's a plus. Bet they make another season though to show how Ted and the mother actually get together.

Haven't watched the newest season, I'm poor and only have access to netflix. I do think that the show is starting to wear thing though - thankfully, my understanding is that the show will be over in the 8th season.
Um.....about that.... [http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/30/cbs-confirms-how-i-met-your-mother-renewal-and-that-season-9-will-be-the-final-year]

So I hope you're ready for 20-something more episodes next year!
W..what? But, being all "seize the Carp" was supposed to be this season! Isn't Barney's wedding at the eighth season? It's supposed to be over! Good god!

Still like it. I don't go on about it.

Remember when we had like 1500 threads on how we hated "Big bang theory"? Guess it's HIMYM turn's...
I think this is the like the first thread about the show.

And I only posted it, because after this past week's episode, everyone I knew personally who watched it thought it was bullshit, and I was just curious about how members on here felt.
It's true the conclusion of the last episode was kinda bullshit. In a way, I kinda understand Ted being the single guy in a group of non-single friends and feeling alone about it. However, this story has been covered so many time. If there's one upside, it's we're finally near meeting the Mother.

As for my "1500 threads" comment, been here since 2008. I remember when the forums turned into anti-Glee, anti-Big bang, anti-pretty much every show. I tend to think there will be a fire before there's an actual fire when it comes to this type of subject. I like to be proven wrong though.

I actually don't mind it too much, but I feel like it needs to wrap up soon. All the characters, bar Ted seem to have pretty much been through their character arcs.

I get that Ted's a bit annoying, but it's not like he doesn't get repeatedly ribbed for his pretentiousness and I still find Barney and Marshall funny.

I tried watching it, but my sense of humor got offended a few too many times..

Oh well, at least it's not as excruciatingly unfunny like shows like Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Office.

We really need more good shows on television!

I've always thought it was awful. Worse than something you'd expect from Chuck Lorre. And that's saying something.

better of ted is one of the best things I've seen on TV. It has a place in my heart together with invader zim.

OT: himym is really getting a little thin now for about the seasons, but the currently stuff might just fit teds situation of being the only one left and the series is going to end soon. there is only so much you can get out of one series and the half animated cadaver of 'two and a half men' shows what happens if you dont let go.

I loved the first two seasons (the high point of the series being the last and first episodes of season 1 and season 2 respectively), but after that I just watched it out of habit (and for NPH). I finally gave up on it after the pilot of the ongoing season, because I just can't get myself to give a shit at this point... At least with Friends I felt involved until the end. Then again, I recently lost interest in Castle too, so maybe it's just me.

From day one, more or less. I didn't really watch it, but it was the only thing people wanted to talk about for a while.

I'm on live and let live terms with it all, though, since no one forces me to watch it. But from the little I have seen, I want to shove Barney in front of a subway train. Not the actor mind you, I just loathe the character.

...And when the hell is he going to meet that mother, anyway?

Never liked it. It started out as a Friends clone, and was even less funny. The humour is very stale, and 'safe'. I don't want to sound offensive to any Americans out there, but I find this to be the case with most of your TV shows that make it across the pond. I'm always baffled too at how you manage to ruin shows that you copy from us, ha ha
Just personal taste I guess. I guess many of you guys feel the same way about English shows? It'd be interesting to know :]
