If you think I'm being racist, irritating and whiny, just to put it into perspective, the English are still going on about winning the world cup 44 years ago. If they win it again, we'll never hear the end of it.
At least the English won it once before. The Sottish national team has about as much recognition in world football as a slice of mouldy bread.

Yeah, I'm watching and supporting my country (The Netherlands). England played horrible yesterday. The keeper error was unexcusable, but the rest of the team was just as crap. No wonder they tied. And who can blame the Americans for playing like Italians the last half hour?

Meh, maybe I shouldn't speak before my turn. I've yet to see what my country will produce...

I don't like football so I don't really care about the world cup. I also think we go a bit mental in England when it comes around, and those little flags on cars are really starting to bug me. So many people who spend all their time moaning about how lame the country is, but when it comes to football they're more fiercely patriotic than anyone. I want my country's team to do well, but if they win we'll never hear the end of it, so I'm not sure I want that either.

I'm aware of that. Personally, I don't really care about football. But for the past two months, TV has been clogged up with "ENGLAND 2010!!!!one!" adverts and, frankly, it's irritating me. I walk into a Co-Op in Scotland and see lots of England flag-bearing products. This happens every world cup, and the England supporters are so convinced they're going to win. It's just plain irritating. I understand that the English want to support their team, but do they have to be so damn in my face about it?

That's just our way of doing things. The 1966 world cup is the only time England did any good in a world cup, and by people hanging flags on their cars and painting their faces, they think we can do it again. It's naive to think that England will win, but we are a proud nation who gets behind our team and supports them. Next world cup will be the same. But what I hate is when these so called 'proud' English men and women show their patriotism to their country only when there's a world cup on. You would never see it any other time.

Yes. Supporting Australia and Greece. The World Cup is a big fucking deal.
Why these two countries?
Greece is responsible for this:

This picture warms the cockles of my heart...
I used to watch all Champions League and World Cup games but then I got rid of my TV and haven't watched a single football game for over three years.
Because I live in Australia and are mostly Greek. And isn't that Ronaldo?

Yes, that's Cristiano Ronaldo (going BWAAA!) in the 2004 Euro finals, after Greece defeated Portugal for the second time, and won the Euro Cup.
Exactly, THAT'S A GOOD THING ! =D
