My birthday is next week and I'm getting old

Anyways, I'm going to be spending time with a female friend that knows I like her. What's between us is complicated and I'm not going to get into it here.

I'll just say that were pretty good friends, and I spent the day with her last week on what some people would call a date, but wasn't really.

I'm thinking about jokingly asking her for a kiss. I'm pretty sure she'll say no, but it's still worth a shot and I can play it off as being innocent yet still flirty.

Good idea, terrible idea?

Anybody done something like it before?

It really depends on that complicated stuff you refused to mention. If you guys are good enough friends without a massive amount of drama between you it will probably play off decently. If something like that could be a minefield then don't. Only you know whats going on between you too.

I have never done anything like that before but because you are asking the question I would say go for it. You only regret things that don't happen.

I gotta say OP, if you got feelings for the gal, best way to go about it is to be honest and have a talk. Clear the air.
If shes not interested, and you are I recommend getting the hell out.

We've been friends for a while, I've liked her most of the time and she knows. About every other week we have fun on a non-date.

She hasn't been seeing anybody. So I won't be stepping on anybodies toes.

It's not really meant to be the start of anything, just an innocent kiss if she actually goes along with it.

What's the point? She wouldn't be kissing you because she fancies you, she'd be kissing you because it's a present or something.

I mean, if all you're after is a kiss, you could likely find it elsewhere, so the kiss isn't likely the thing you're really after. I'd imagine you're after genuine affection from her specifically, and you won't find it the way you're going about it.

What have you got to lose? If she knows you like her, then the worst she can do is laugh it off and say no if she really is a good mate. The best you can hope for is, well, birthday sex really.
