Poll: Assassin's Creed 2: Ezzio's Married?

So I just watched this Assassin's Creed 2 trailer examination video:

In the last couple of seconds, they reveal what I think to be the most important fact towards the game's story; Ezzio (our new Altair) not only has all his fingers intact, but he wears a wedding ring. Is he married?

This usually wouldn't be anything interesting, except for the fact that nearly every male, video game protagonist with a wife HAS said wife die during the course of the game. The last thing I want hear about this game is that we're going to have to play as YET ANOTHER main character who's seeking revenge for the death of his wife.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts. What are yours?

He has his fingers intact and a real life because he starts the game as a noble, bad shit happens and he goes assassin. The developers said they didn't want another case of "oh you're a master assassin...but we're striping you of all your weapons so you can learn how to play the game" instead you learn to play the game through him becoming an assassin.

That is true. Hopefully they will make the wife interesting and not just, "oh noes I've been captured to further develope the plot" generic stuff like that.

Well, she wasn't actually his wife. Just someone who, in true Video Game fashion, he met, and, about 5 minutes later, decided was the one for him.

Seriously, though I enjoyed the DS game, it was completely and totally pointless to the overarching plot of the series.
