Tom Francis is generally a great reviewer, and as such I respect his opinion a lot.
Largely, I'd agree with him too. I was planning to get ACII on the PC (because I wanted tasty tasty draw-distances), but in the end gave up and got it for my 360, entirely due to the DRM. And you know what? It's a really good game.

Shame about the crippling DRM...

The DRM is at the moment part of the overall experience of ACII, and as such it should absolutelly factor into the review.

A DRM that can render the game unplayable at any given moment? For no good reason? Hell yes that should be a factor when reviewing a game. Would you not expect the same if a game had a bug that caused it to crash all the time? They deserve to be spanked for such stupidity. And reviewers telling people not to buy it because of the DRM is the closest we can get. Since it will effect sales negatively.

When consoles start getting the same "always be online, if it even drops for a second you get kicked out" don't go crying because this is the time to act against it.

AC2 looks like fun, and Ill play it. when the next generation is here and I pick up a cheap 360/ps3

I am glad they mention it in the review

I'm not buying it because it's coming out just under FOUR MONTHS after the consoles. What the fuck is the point in that? Ubisoft fucked up royally there, I bought it on PS3, played it in a week and returned it. You can't treat PC gamers like that and expect us to buy it. Fuck you Ubisoft.

I just Googled that and got 46 700 results.

Great business move, Ubi. Half your consumer base hates you. Nice work.

Next time why not go all out and just send out a virus to kill the entire internet? That way no one can pirate your games! Yay!

I plead guilty!

I've bought the game and to be honest I have had no real problems with the DRM whatsoever.
I had some stuttering sound when Messenger was running in the back and people spoke to me.
And by now most of you have a more then decent internet connection right?
How else would you play your MW2 or WoW?
Sure I disagree with the move they made and I would love to see a solution to this in the future but it's only a big deal if you have some crappy wireless connection or a flakey provider who cannot keep their connection stable. My internet connection rarely drops and if it does, well I play it when it's back on, right where I left of.

Oh and the controls are great if you have a gamepad and I think every pc gamer should own a gamepad for their pc.

It should be in the review, but not in the score. So i think its fair that they giev iot a good grade, and still don't recomend it. Cause people will know that it's good, and knwo that it's teh DRM thats teh fault.

It's also quite a signal to the publishers, that an otherwise good game will be reccomended as a no-go due to DRM.

Ugh. I played Dreamfall on PC using the keyboard...horrid. Much better with a pad.
