Quite to my surprise, Steam is now advertising Assassin's Creed: Rogue
(Link for your convenience - http://store.steampowered.com/app/311560/)
This seems to have come out rather swiftly and out of nowhere after the recent lame duck that was Unity. One has to question whether this is:
A - An attempt to try to brush Unity under the carpet swiftly and pretend it never happened
B - An attempt to milk the franchise dry now that interest is starting to wane in AC once more
This all seems rather a shame to me as AC certainly had a huge surge in popularity after the success of Black Flag. Interestingly, AC: Rogue (in which you will play an Assassin turned Assassin Hunter) has appeared with almost no fanfare whatsoever. Possibly to avoid the embarrassment of falling flat on it's face when it doesn't live up to expectations.
I am starting to ramble, now, and although there is plenty to say, I'll cut this short and open it up for discussion on three fronts:
1 - Has this come out way too soon, and is is wrong to abandon Unity so quickly?
2 - Does this seem like an interesting concept, or are you disappointed to be in Colonial America AGAIN?
3 - Most importantly...like the famed swan dive of the series, will you be diving back into AC head first once again?
