Poll: at what age is it ok to start posting lets play's on youtube?

And he want's to try it! He is quite the good gamer,he started playing when he was six.But the only problem is that he knows how people hate 13 year olds playing online,but he ISN'T annoying and quite smart.His I.Q. is 117 (that's above avarage) so I think he is quite qualified....But what do YOU think?!

If it's something he wants to do, why not? at the very least he can get all sorts of experience from it surrounding editing film and recording. I wouldn't expect him to have much sucess though. In the end, there is pretty much no downside to this endeavour other than the potential for hurt feelings through you tube comments. As long as he doesn't take those too seriously, hell be fine.

I'll be honest here. I don't think he wants his self esteem plunging into the abyss. He may be smart and funny, but gaming communities have a stigma about people his age and if the video gets any traction he will likely be mocked. Though, if he/you thinks he can weather the criticism then go ahead. At least its something somewhat productive and creative.

Dude encourage your bro to get on and do it who gives a fuck what others think!, If he enjoys this and wants to do it let him.

If he keeps doing it from this age and gets better at it by the time he is 16 he is going to be a deft hand at lets play.

On a serious note, i would highly advise doing lets play games that are above his age rating, i'm not being a tool when i say this but you need to be aware. People online are dicks and will cause trouble for people if they can so get him to stick to doing lets play of game age rating apropriate.

I couldn't give a shit if he plays 18 thats fine with me people are free to choose what they want but online shit bags would cause trouble just for the sake of it

-Skills to be competent at most game. Yup! He can beat (almost) any game at normal difficulty,and now he is playing on harder difficulty levels..He beated CoD 4 on veteran

-Low expectations. indeed,he is gonna do it for fun,he already talks when he plays games so why not while recording him self?

He is thanking you for all the support you gave him!! He isn't gonna play online a lot,because he mostly uses his xbox 360,and he doesn't have a gold card...But he will play multi player on the P.C.! He will also do some games that are less known,good indie/flash games.So you can find something new that you can play no matter how bad your PC is!I will add you as a friend so I can later send you some of his videos!

No offence, but where did you get your IQ tested? because an IQ of 146 would put you in the top 0.13% of the planet. To be that smart and not realise that the IQ scale is adjusted so that the average is always 100 doesn't add up...

No offence, but where did you get your IQ tested? because an IQ of 146 would put you in the top 0.13% of the planet. To be that smart and not realise that the IQ scale is adjusted so that the average is always 100 doesn't add up...

Back in 6th form we had oxford uni people come in to chat to the maths a-level class i was in we did an IQ test and some other bollacks i wasn't really intrested in. We got given scores from that a week later, i dropped out about a month after this and didn't think about it much.

Pretty much that =) didn't get any a-levels and decided i would rather drink and go fishing when i was 17 with friends rather than study. Turned out alright in the end working in a large ISP firm pretty much self taught.

Still thats made my day most awesome =D

Gonna just point out that...as I understand it IQ tests are all kinds of problematic. So they kinda tend to mean nothing in the long run.
