Hey guys, I'm a man with a strange problem: I attract attention from a lot of gay guys. While I'm only mildly successful with women, for some reason I get attention from a lot of gay dudes. Just in the past month, I've had two guys ask me if I was interested in them and a few try to be, um... friendly with me. Sources say it's because I act like a beta-male and I have a feminine "boybandish" face. Go figure I guess.

Has anyone else a problem like this, either straight people who attract gays or vice versa? If so, how do you deal with someone liking you without being really awkward about it?

EDIT: God dammit, Escapist. Stop eating my polls!

It was something like, "All the time" "Occasionally" "Never before" and "Nope, I don't attract either gender.../forever alone"

Also, I'm sorry bisexuals, this doesn't really apply to you i'm afraid.

EDIT - REVOLUTIONS: Oh, and this is what I look like if anyone cares:

It happens all the time. Sometimes I even manage to attract straight men. Not sure how that works, but apparently it happens.

I also attract quite a few of the ladies so I suppose it balances out a little

Well, my brother is gay, and sometimes I come with him for bar-hopping. We go to bars I like, which means clubs with tons of women, and we go to bars he likes, which means gay clubs. Yes, I've been hit on numerous times when we go out. I get free drinks and rounds of pool that way!

once i was at a gay bar in Savannah, Georgia. nobody hit on me. i was disappointed.

another time, in London, England, an old guy wanted me to make out with him as the [gay] bar was closing. i politely declined, but apparently that's a thing over there; gay guys make out even if they don't know each other at the end of the night. who knew?

a guy i was working with on a game developed a crush on me while we worked together, and later asked if i was interested in men. i let him down gently, and tried to console him by offering the valid point that i'm a terrible boyfriend. he said i was probably fun in my own way. that made me feel good.

my point is that it feeds my ego when gay guys hit on me. where as women tend to be more reserved about their initial attraction, gay's tend to be more up front about it. it's a compliment, or at least i take it as one.

I'm a chick who, at least in high school, seemed to attract more chicks than dudes. I suppose that's the curse of short hair and baggy "guy clothes" and being rather flat. I've often wondered whether I made a cute guy because of this. I suppose I do?

Why can't I make a cute female?

Anyway, things like this have died down since going to college. Maybe because most people know I'm not interested.

It's a yes and a no from me. I tend to attract gay fellas and often make out with them if I fancy it, but still consider myself mainly hetero as I'd never go any further with a dude. I'm not sure if it comes down to a subconscious sexual confusion or just genuinely not caring. HmHmm..

EDIT:

Yeah I found that description of yourself genuinely attractive...maybe I am a bit bent..

OT though I've wondered a similar thing about myself but the opposite. Worrying I appear to feminine. Maybe thats the issue.

I've attracted both genders. Well, in a way. The two girls who've hit on me basically just wanted to know if I was available for some what in Swedish is called KK or "kompis knull". I suppose that translates into "friendly fuck"?

The men I've attracted... Well, let's just say they were also looking for an easy lay. No thank you. Only one guy has ever tried asking me to have an actual relationship and that went to hell in a handbasket right quick.

Just once, there was this guy who was flirting with me all the time. He actually told me he would outright make out with me if I was gay. I declined the offer right away in a friendly way.

Ha, they were lesbians so I'm afraid you'd have been out of luck. Not to say there aren't straight girls here that enjoy a "FF" so to speak - I know one or two - but I'm not one of them. Blame my Catholic upbringing or something =P

You missed the option I would have picked: "What wrong gender?" ^^

I can firmly say I've never attracted the wrong gender because, as far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing. I have attracted both genders successfully - sometimes too successfully. I've had both male and female stalkers so... yeah.
