Poll: Avatar TLA: What bending would you want?

I'd go with Earth bending. Just the thought of being surrounded by rock armor and smashing things is really appealing. Also metal bending is ridiculously cool.

I'm surprised that energy bending hasn't been mentioned.
I believe it was only used to strip someone of their bending powers but I'm sure there's other possibilities.

Probably Earth, it's great on both offence and defence, it's pretty versatile, it doesn't require you to be fast or flexible to use it effectively, and when done well, I think Earth bending looks more bad ass then the others (but only by a very thin margin).
Air, because it is shown mostly in the show as a style mostly focused on evasion and agility.
I'd imagine it would also have incredible versatility though, as well as being the most abundant element. Flying and being able to run fast enough to go up walls would be good too.
Personally I think the monks were raised to be non-violent and passive because of the ease of which they could kill anyone who opposed them. I mean think about it, if they can control the air then they can surely stop you from taking in any air. Unavoidable, universally fatal and near impossible to detect who has done it, unlike the other elements attacks.
Air benders would make awesome assassins.

Earth: think about the applications, vis a vis building megastructures and nanotechnology.

Well I hate being dirty, so earth is obviously out.
Since the only air-bender we got to see was Aang I just remember less cool things out of that element then the other. So that is another out.
I don't like the idea of having a power I could not use in all environmental or without ammunition I will eliminate water as well.
