So someone, somewhere, got the bight idea that if Avatar was going to have a DVD Special Edition, why not re-release it in the theaters. Make everyone pay again to see an additional 15 minutes of footage.

The question is, are you going to see it?

I for one am not. I love the extra features on a dvd. Behind the scenes looks, and deleted/alternate scenes, and directors commentary. However, unless i can take the ticket stub I bought for the original movie and go see this one, I personally don't see why I have to pay an additional 10/15 bucks to see an additional 15 minutes.

I didn't care that much about the movie when I first saw it, I didn't intend to buy the DVD, and unless a certain one of my friends decides to ask me cutely, there's no way I'm going to see it. If she does... Fuck it, when she does, I suppose I will.

If I wanted to see a beautiful piece of crap I'd buy an expensive suit and take a shit in it.
No I won't be buying it.

I've seen it once in theaters and once on DVD and the story is not impressive enough to see it again this soon.

Short answer: No.
Long Answer: FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Really? For 8 extra minutes he finds a need for them to put it BACK in theatres? After he wasted so much time that my theatre didnt get Crazy Heart (way better movie) and OVER stayed becuase it was in for the wahtever awards? PLus the fact He's RE-releasing Titanic in 2012? Nope, sorry Mr. Cameron. You may be able to full a good portion of the world, but not me. I will not hand over my $11 just so you can sit atop your white horse on that Six mile high pedastol you placed yourself upon and laugh as everyone falls into your hands like damned sheep. I am the wolf, and I do not follow.

Honestly not much better. Toy Story 3 used the 3D much more effectively.

I already saw it in 3d once and was unimpressed. The visuals were amazing, yes, but the story was weak in my opinion; I'd already seen it or read it a dozen times. And I'm sorry. Visuals don't make a story for me, the STORY does. I'm not going to pay any more money to see twenty minutes more of a story that was already unoriginal and unimpressive in the first place. You could only get me back in the theatre to see it again if you had a gun to my head.

I still have to see it for myself. My ex-flatmate *loved* Avatar in 3D and wouldn't shut up about it for a couple of days.

3D its just a stupid gimmick and Avatar was one of those movies where I found myself rooting for the bad guys, so I wouldn't watch even on normal Ds

Considering that I have never seen the appeal in the film, even before I'd heard of the special edition... I think you can work out my answer to this question.

Unless the additional 8 minutes are nothing but Na'vi slaughtering set to a musical accompaniment of James Cameron apologizing for that unoriginal mess of a movie and begging for forgiveness, I think I'll pass.

Honestly, weren't DVD Special Editions CREATED specificly so shit like this doesn't have to happen? All this does is prove a certian someone's greed. Some Special Edition DVDs even have more extra footage than what Avatar is putting it back in theaters, so there LITERALY is no excuse.
