From time immemorial there has been a constant divide between the peoples of the land. Those that demand their bacon to be crunchy and crisp, with their flags and banners of solidarity, versus those who prefer moist and chewy bacon, with their tabards of unity.

The question has been both a rallying cry and a prayer, for all people like bacon. This is well known, even Vegetarian high-shrug Angelo Marquis Bravoda once said "Unto the vegetarian shall no meat pass, except for the bacon meat, for it is succor and not meat when prepared thusly." All other groups that claim to be non-meat all have similar rules they don't tell anyone else about. ALL of them.

So, knowing that there exists this raging tumult of war surrounding this question... fellow escapists, which side do you stand on? Which shore do you call home?

Crunchy? or Chewy?

A true master of the grill will find a common ground between these otherwise rival levels of cooking, and they shall present a delightful meal to be enjoyed by all... at least after the door into the room with the smoke detector is shut that is.

I love all bacon, unless it is charred and blackened to the point of being a chunk of unrecognizable carbon.

Well, I would say I like crispy better than crunchy, but I'm definitely on the crunchy side of the spectrum. I don't like any meat that's chewy, which is probably why I like fish better than any other meat, cause I have yet to run across chewy fish, but the point is, when it comes to bacon it's crunchy/crispy all the way.

Crunchy. I can't stand chewy bacon. It feels undercooked and more fatty to me. Hell, even Meriadoc Brandybuck endorses nice, crispy bacon, and hobbits know their food.

I almost pressed "REPORT" looking for the "LIKE THIS" button... damn facebook

anyway, yes, i agree with this, a crunchy border with chewy bits in between is the perfect combination.

Chewy. It lacks substance imo otherwise. But not too chewy hey, let's not exaggerate.

I personally LOVE chewy bacon, but I was raised on the crunchy stuff. I guess I'm a bit of a bacon fence-sitter.

I prefer it to be more on the crispy crunchy side than chewy. Being too chewy just feels... weird. It's mostly a texture thing and not a taste thing for me. I still like to have a little bit of chewyness involved, but I have had some really good pieces of applewood bacon that were extra crispy and it was some of the best bacon I've ever eaten.

Chewy if in a bacon-butty, crispy when served with breakfast.

Regardless, I refuse to believe anyone prefers a chewy rind. Heresy, I say.

Crispy! How else should one know when they have gotten to the bacon in their BLT? If the Bacon has the texture and consistency of a tomato, then it is merely Bacon-flavored Tomato! Mmmm, that sweet, delicious crunch...I think I shall go further the cause of the people, now.

To Bacon!

I can't stand bacon anymore. I'm so sorry to everyone. Too salty.

But I recall I was a fence sitter myself. I liked it either way.

Truth be told though the fact I didn't really have a preference might mean I was never crazy about it.
