The ramping up of the badges lately has been a bit bothersome. But it's not like it's anything important and as previously stated notifications can be turned off... so really who gives a damn.

I say add as many badges as possible, that way the people who like them will be happy and the people who don't won't even notice. I sure don't care about badges, just like I don't care about achievements or anything like them, but I have nothing against other people getting fun (or satisfaction, or whatever it is that's gained) out of them...

I like them. They (well some of them) look cool and/or have funny descriptions, and I think they nicely complement the avatar and username etc.
The only thing that bugs me is that I have so many now that moving a new one up to the top is getting slightly tedious.

I like the important and hard to get ones, I can see merit in the ones that either bring something out in your personality (quiz badges) and the ones for posting a lot, I don't really see the point of having a different badges for virtually every video you watch, and the only ones that really matter are the four you choose as your main, so virtually all of the badges I get are pointless anyway.
I was sad to see the ZP badges. I logged on one day and I had like 8 new messages, all badges for watching ZP. I thought I was mr.popular :'(
