I got the new Batman game this Christmas, and I recently only just finished it. The main reason I wanted it was due to it's ridiculously rated reviews, most all about 90%, and because Batman is generally quite awesome.
However, like I said, I just recently finished it and thought: "Wait a tic, that wasn't all that good". Granted, it was good, just not as good as everyone else said. People that played it said stuff like, "It's the closest to perfection a video game is". Of course, I realise it's probally just a gap in opinion. I'm sure I'm just weird or something for not liking this "masterpiece".
One of things I absolutely cannot agree with is it's "perfection" rating though. Combat, although fun, gets boring after a while. All common enemies use the same character build, with only a few variants in their actual looks, mainly the colour of their skin. Many of the sneaking modes gets repetetive over a while, and these scenes only have about ten or so pieces of repeated common dialogue. Certain boss-type enemies are repeated several times, mainly Bane copies, of which there must be ten or so within one playthrough... I could go on. There are a few more things that tick me off about the game, such as the ending or the fact that having to tap the X button like a mad-man every time you want to open a hatch or pull down a wall gets really annoying after a while, but I'm sure I've gotten my point across.
So, am I just crazy or something? Are all these things meant to be fun? Is it definately deserving of it's high ratings? Or do you disagree with any of my points?
