This is (obviously) a completely hypothetical situation but ever since I saw that the new Hitman game is borrowing incredibly heavily from the recent Batman games (City, Asylum) I was wondering, given the right kind of environment to sneak about in, would Batman ever be able to catch 47 or could 47 kill Batman before he even knew 47 was there?

Now as far as I know (my knowledge on both Batman and 47 is pretty basic) they're pretty closely matched. Batman would obviously kick 47's teeth clean from his jaw in a one-on-one fight since the worst I've ever seen 47 do hand-to-hand is a brutal head-butt, but if 47 could have enough room to sneak around in and had all the tools he needed he would stand a fair chance.

Both Batman and 47 are very highly trained individuals and both have their own methods and tactics available to them to complete whatever mission they've been tasked with.

Imagine that The Joker put out a hit on Batman and 47 took the contract. Being The Joker he "forgot" to give 47 any information on who he'd be up against. Because this is happening without Batman's knowledge, he also wouldn't know anything about 47 or his tactics either, both of them would have to learn about each other in their own ways.

Both of them would be armed with the tools available to them in their respective games (I'm only going for the games since Batman would win by default if you used the comics and movies too, since Batman has the goddamn Bat Mobile and a whole other mess of stuff like the Lazarus Pit).

So, keeping things simple and fair, let's just say that 47 and Batman are in a city that neither of them know the layout of but is filled with various ways for them to use their skills and tools to various advantages.

Who do you think would be the victor?

47 would incapacitate Alfred, take on his guise, then paint the Bat-Pole with one part of a powerful binary contact explosive - the other part he would apply to the Bat-Crotch of Batman's costume.

Then all he'd have to do is wait for the next emergency and Bruce Wayne/Batman would die sliding down into the Bat-Cave.

In an all-out brawl, Batman would easily defeat 47. However, I think 47 would be able to kill Batman in an assassination-type scenario. It all depends on the situation.

Batman, it's not like Agent 47 is actually any good at disguises. Most of them don't cover up that glaring bar code.

It's the friggin Batman, there is no way he's losing to this guy [http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=XiVRlNKEgew#t=9s].

I'm sorry, but to the Bat, Agent 47 is on the level of the guy who is somewhere between villain and mook, like the bad guy's best right-hand-man. He's good, but he's not good enough. Batman contends with people who have been...super strong, super smart, super powered (unusual meta-abilities), and super insane. Agent 47 isn't any one of these. He's a man with weapons who's very good at weapons, but Batman has Badass Normal written all over him plus the fact that he dispatches others like him on a daily basis.

I'd have to give this one to Batman. I mean, how are you going to beat his 'Agent 47 Repellant Spray' that he has conveniently stored on his utility belt?
