WTF!?!
Where is the N-64 on the choices?!?!?!
Because the thread is about the BEST 'retired' system ever.

(nerd rage in 3...2...1...)
I'd call the system pretty retired. No one is producing or selling either it or games for it, except for on Ebay, anymore, so it doesn't get much more retired than that.

But personally, I'd say the NES, 'cause it revived console gaming, while the N64 wasn't all that influential overall.
I agree, it's definitely retired. I was just waiting for people to go "WTF!?! How dare he insult the N64!" It wasn't a bad system, it's just I think that MecaEcco was correct in not adding it to this list.

While, I picked the SNES, I I certainly agree with you on the NES. Who knows what gaming today would be like if it hadn'r of been created, or been popular.

One console that he should have added though was the original Xbox. It was the first console by Microsoft. It changed the console wars. It was no longer, Sony vs. Nintendo. Sega had died off from the console wars, and it made it a three way competition again. More importantly, while it did not pioneer online play with the consoles, as the Dreamcast and the PS2 both had modems, it certainly is the one that brought to the mainstream for online console gaming, via Xbox Live.

Vs threads are not good.
However, for sake of not trolling, I'll go with the SNES.

What happened to the N64? That was truly the BEST.
My thoughts exactly. How do you include the shitty Dreamcast but not the N64?

Of those, though, I'll go with the SNES--Earthbound, Super Mario World (and All-stars), Super Metroid, Secret of Mana, Zombies at my Neighbors, Street Fighter II, The Donkey Kong Country titles...Yeah, SNES was the best of those.

I think it was the Dreamcast, it like the ps3 now, it was ahead of its time. Its only problem, sony put a dvd player in their system, which killed the Dreamcast. I know many people will disargee with me, but I've had the most fun out of my dreamcast then any other console.

I thought about putting in the N64 but I didn't have unlimited slots and I felt Nintendo was already well represented. My exclusion of N64 was not a snub against the system but a limitation of the poll. XBox was not included again for space considerations, however, I did wish that Microsoft could have been represented. FYI I did not put down my favorite system in the poll knowing that only a very few select gamers had the chops to love the Virtual Boy. So even I, the poll creator, did not have my favorite system up there.
