Erm... you didn't play the game then, did you?
It's a solid and fun action title with a witty, pleasantly over the top and tongue-in-cheek plot , and according to many, Bayonetta felt more like a Devil May Cry than DMC itself has felt in years (something that new sequel/prequel probably won't change either).

Pfft. I don't even accept that your ridiculously broad definition of pornography is all bad.
Now you're just outright ignoring things I've said.

Seriously, go back and read again.

You will never end that kind of behavior. It will be around for longer than anything we would recognize as humanity. If you hate it so much, well, that's your privilege. I'd rather recognize humanity for the bizarre, interesting creature it is. There's nothing wrong with wanting to improve humanity, of course, but if you think men and women will ever stop trying to manipulate each other, or that we will ever stop using sex in our efforts to do so, you are sadly mistaken.
Like I said, go back and read again.

Also, totally not what I'm talking about.

ZephrC said:
You keep going off on me for making assumptions about you, but the assumptions you make about me are far worse, and far less grounded in reality.
Those assumptions being? Because I'm willing to bet I didn't really make them.

ZephrC said:
However, this is an internet argument. There's no point in taking this shit seriously. If you want to believe that I just lay around jerking off to underwear models on the internet feel free.
Okay.. I wasn't until now but if you want.

ZephrC said:
I wouldn't stop you even if I could. Really though, that's getting into why I don't take the internet seriously anymore, which is a whole different discussion.
How could I be taking this seriously. It's not even an argument.

Wow. How many 3 page long bullet pointed posts are you going to make before you realize I'm just making fun of you? Sorry, it's not fun anymore. Later!

My question is: are there reasons behind why she moans like she's having an orgasm during combat and cutscenes?
She... doesn't? She makes pained sounds when she's getting hit and sounds like she's having fun when she isn't. It's part of her over-the-top flamboyance, man. She really enjoys her job.

Are there reasons why the character seems to sexualise everything around her?
Because that's how she is. Do you seriously not know anyone like that IRL? I know lots of people like that. Hell, I'm like that. I'd twist every post I make into something monumentally filthy if I didn't think it would get me banned from the forums.

I'm not going to comment on the rest of your post, because it made me facepalm so hard.

Anyone who things Bayonetta is sexist hasn't played the game, I think she's one of the best female characters in gaming so far.

She's what I imagine a sexual female character would be like if designed by a women. She plays with her sexuality a lot but it's never in a "come get it" kind of way. Never while playing did I think of her as a shallow piece of boob.

This is a major steorotype in videogames...if a woman in appears in a videogame everybody just runs around screaming "SEXIST!SEXIST!". Or when a black person appears in a videogame,"RACIST!RACIST!". Resident Evil 5 is a big example of that.
There is a major difference between the words "sexy" and "sexist"
If the game Bayonetta was sexist you'd have her running around making sandwhiches and attacking people with cutlary(come to think of it cooking mama is more sexist don't you think?)...

More like over-sexualized by a sexually oppressed mind which turns out to be none other than Japanese (Correct me if I'm wrong, I do forget a lot of things) which really doesn't help the case for me...

She would be a sexist character if she was: dumb because she's pretty; lived in a kitchen because that's her job; or appeared in the game solely for some main character to have a love interest; etc...
Considering she's the opposite of all that, I don't think she's sexist. Actually her over-sexualized nature seemed more like a spoof of the character type.

Sexy female characters are only sexist if they're only sexy for the sake of satisfying the men. The shy and non-intimidating girls who wear little vests and short skirts, for example, so that males feel like they can dominate them socially as well as physically, as I know few real shy girls who are that comfortable displaying their sexuality.

For one thing, this:

I was severely offended by Bayonetta, I mean, she just plain used guys to her own ends.... like we were some sort of object, nay, a toy for her!
Not really the role of a person who's been created to be dominated.

It's not really serious enough for there to be a good argument that the game's appealing to men's libidos, either. It's highly sexualised but ridiculously so... There's a frickin' monster who attacks by lying back and displaying her crotch, for frick's sake. If anything I'd imagine that it makes guys end up laughing at such fetishisms, and maybe even at their own fetishes.

As a female, I don't find Bayonetta particularly empowering, she hasn't exactly broken any boundries for women. And female or no, I just find her kick-ass and totally awesome. :D

No, people only say it is because its a game where the female is supposedly hot.

christ, if that makes something sexist, then if I look at a girl and think she's hot, then I must be a sexist.
