Poll: Bear Grylls or Les Stroud

I'm sorry, but no-one's mentioned Ray Mears? That dude is a wilderness god. While Grylls is choking on snakes and elephant dung, Ray will have cooked you up a lovely meal of mushrooms, fish and wild herbs, built a log-cabin to sleep in with nothing more than a machete, and will keep you interested with his various tales and anecdotes about the various tribes of the world. And the next day, he'll leave it as if he was never there in the first place. The man's an absolute legend.

Wow, I'm sorry but Ray Meyers struck me as even more phony than Bear Grylls. I've never seen someone catch a fish that fast (in fact, I've seen people try for a day and a half and not get any like on survivorman). They also don't show him doing any of the work. You get to see him split the log but after that it's just him showing up with the three difficult components (you see him "sharpen" the trigger but you don't get to see him make it). And he's got the same camera crew problem Bear has.

I voted for Les Stroud. He's not as flashy as Bear but if I had to choose one to get me out of the wilderness Les Stroud seems like he knows what he's doing. Although, if Bear had his whole camera crew...

Ray Mears is the shit. Bear Grylls actually stays IN A HOTEL when filming. If you actually watch any of the Ray Mears things, you do actually see him failing to do things/stay outdoors etc. Mears does it to for both the experience and the teaching, not just the teaching like Grylls.

Les Stroud I've never actually heard of though, so I can't really comment on him.

I'd rather have Ray Mears if I was stuck in the wilderness, that clip is just a taster of what he does.
Would I vote for him? I don't think that's what he's about to be honest, he's not trying to prove anything.

I just like surviorman. I mean bear is okay but some of things he tells you cannot always be used. Les actually teaches you stuff on how to survive rather jumping down waterfalls or swiming in the rapids. besides I've always been taught if your lost in the woods you stay where you are? Bascially if I had to choose who I had to lost in the middle of no where with, it would have to be les...Bear would probably just leave me behind XD.
