Seeing as I'm 19 an incapable of growing much of anything, I'm going to say that if I had a choice, I'd give myself a beard to rival Gimli's or Gandalf's. But I don't even have to shave, just run a pair of trimmers without the guard over my face every week or so. I'm not lamenting the fact either, do you realize I've probably saved a couple hundred dollars by not following the norm and trying to start shaving and grow a mustache/beard at 14. It's kinda hilarious to be honest, they try so hard, and then most of them go clean shaven anyway.

While my feelings towards beards and other facial hair lean slightly to the negative, I don't actually care enough about other peoples' appearance to say or do anything about them. Not really any of my business, you know? Do your thing.

In truth, I'm normally too lazy to shave. When I do, it's either because I have a social engagement or job interview, or because I find the sensation of having facial hair to be just slightly more unpleasant than the bother of shaving it off.

I only voted "Nay" on the poll purely for the way it was worded, haha, sorry.
In all seriousness though, I quite like beards provided they're well kept and groomed. As in, it actually looks like the guy hasn't just been too lazy to shave! It's pity that either not very many men in my area have the capability of growing one or can't grow one without it making them look a bit 'iffy' or just terribly unkempt. If that makes sense?

Beards are only worth having unless they are properly maintained. If this cannot be achieved, then shaving is a must.
Basically what I'm getting at, haha.

Facial hair rules. Now, although this isn't technically a beard, but rather a mustache, this doesn't really count, but I would just like to say that the "friendly mutton-chop mustache" is the most bad-ass motherfuckin' thing you can have on your face.

NOTE: This isn't me. I just found this pic on the internet.

Tell me that isn't fucking amazing.
Snazzy, yeah, but I would stay away. LOL.

What's everyone else's favourite beards/general facial hair? I've always liked wee goatees; nothing too crazy. What about yous?

I think beards give a face character. Some really don't look good, though, especially if they're not well-maintained.

Personally, I need my beard, because I look like a teen without it. However, I keep it neatly trimmed (to about 1-1.5cm); it runs along my jaw line, and anything above or below that regularly falls victim to the razor.

Inbetween. Stubbles = sweetness.

If I don't shave I look very untended.
If I shave I look like I'm 14.

However, when I have stubbles up, I look like I'm actually my age and gets met girls' attention a lot more then it would otherwise.

I like stubble, I hate clean shaven and over bearded Men. A good amount of stubble is perfect for me.

Seconded. My boyfriend used to have a beard but I'm not a huge fan so we compromised. He can have it but when it gets to a certain length he has to shave. I think most men look much better without them.

I keep my bread nicely trimmed, it's just above the stubble stage at the moment and probably needs knocking back a bit. The wimminz seems to like it... never been with anyone that demands I shave it off so all is good.
Also when I did shave it all off I looked like Julia Roberts... but then again the dress probably didn't help there.

Beardliness divides into Hippiness and Vikingness. Hippiness is the easier way, more natural, more vegan, but it is a trap. By accepting the Beardliness into your life, you must fight against the Hippiness before it overwhelms you. Vikingness is where the True Beard lies.

Vikingness.

Hippiness.

Better to be without Beardliness than to succumb to Hippiness.

My brother looks about 10 years younger without a beard, which is something to avoid as he's in his mid twenties.

Actually as far as I'm aware he's not shaved it since he was about 21. So maybe it doesn't apply anymore.

I keep a trimmed Van Dike or Chin Strap. At the moment it's all gross and long because I'm a lazy bastard and I'm not working through winter.

It'll be coming off when I go for my practical placement in 3 weeks though.

For me? Growing a beard is something I've thought about doing, and not growing one is actually harder (this thing is like face kudzu), I've stayed mostly clean shaven. My last girlfriend had a thing for clean shaven men, and my last job was as a server. Nobody wants a bearded server, and if you want to wear a chin hair net be my guest. At this point it's just habit.

Though now that I'm happily just a student once more growing a villain 'stache/goatee is mighty tempting...

OP: Naw, I just don't look good in a beardly fashion... I try to keep it clean and trim the rims whenever I can...

...although sometimes I can go weeks without because I'm too lazy too...

I'd go for a nostalgia critic style beard any day. Too bad I can't force it to grow. :(

Ask me again in a couple months, when I'm actually able to have an opinion about having a beard. lol
