So I've been looking at the "post a personal picture" thread and noticed a large quantity of facial hair. It got me thinking as my friend (a nerd) is intent on growing a beard and I myself (a nerd) toyd with the idea of some freaky moustache jobby and I wondered if there was a direct link between nerdiness and desire to grow facial hair. Furthermore I wondered how many actually went through with it. Of course ladies you're opinions are important, I just personally don't care. Therefore please don't answer the poll though feel free to comment.
My take on the psychology behind my observations of correlation between hairy faces and nerdiness is that it's about manliness. Deprived of masculinity by our natural abhorration of physical exertion we lack musculature vital to obtaining the sought after attentions of our opposite gender. We therefore attempt to compensate by squeezing out strands of collagen from our chins and upper lips, allowing them to thrive and flourish, because without it we look actually rather effeminate.
Also it catches food so it doesn't drop on your clothes!
What are your thoughts escapists?
