So I just beat ICO. It was quite an awesome game, despite beating it in less than 6 hours.
The whole time I'm half wanting to tear up, but I managed to keep my face dry.
I do remember feeling a little more moved over games like Red Dead, Mass Effect, and Walking Dead before, though.
Do games affect you that way? Have you ever actually cried during or after a game?
Please tell me I'm not the only one investing this much in the stories.

Biggest game for me, Arc the Lad 2. I seriously cried during the ending, which to me, makes it one of the best endings I have ever seen. The more emotional I get over the story of a game, the better that story is.

Arc the Lad 2, Xenosaga, .hack, Persona 4 are 4 I can think of right off that got this reaction out of me. I know there are many more. I love a good story in a game. It's partly why I play so many rpgs.

Lol it's 50-50 right now between all the time and never.
I don't think I've ever cried, though I've come pretty close. Okami was probably the closest.

not just the ending, Mordin's fate in mass effect was so touching, actually everything in those games touched me
Then there is SpecOps, if you haven't played it, even if you don't normally play shooters PLAY SPECOPS

I never cried, but endings have affected me tremendously, whether making me super happy and excited, or feeling sad and even lonely(trust me that makes a lot of sense).

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker: Since the remake is coming out soon and I don't want to spoil anything, but the ending pulled at my heartstrings.
Pokemon Black(I know I talk about it too much): N's final speech and his goodbye along with the song that plays over the credits hits my feels every time.
Halo 4: It's funny to say that I feel bad for Master Chief, but at the end, I genuinely felt so bad for the guy, despite the fact he stays so stoic.

When I watched a let's play of the first season of the Walking Dead it certainly affected me a whole lot, even though I wasn't playing, or making the tough decisions.

I don't think I've ever cried at a game ending, however, there are more than a few that give me the fucking chills every time.

Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Pokemon White to name a few.

Actually, I lied. I did cry during To the Moon. Not at the end, though.

Bioshock Infinite was pretty great in the ending department. It was very poetic and although I saw it coming it was still pretty great the way they executed it. No tears though.

The only thing entertainment wise that has ever brought me to tears was something we do not speak of here in internetland (an episode of a certain animated show that had to do with a dog is all I have to say about that).

FF8 was close, Bioshock Infinite, Red Dead Redemption. Portal 2 to some degree though it wasn't a big emotional outpouring. More just an appreciation of excellence in retrospect for the series coupled with that final companion cube shot. I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that come to mind.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
The only one that I can think of is Ghost Trick, fuck that game had a fantastic ending. I don't know if it made my cry but it got damn close at anyrate.

I checked 'cry evry tiem,' cos I do get really emotional, but I've actually only cried once, at the end of Thomas Was Alone, and it wasn't, like, sobbing. Just moist eyes. I do smile like a madman every time I complete Journey with a partner though, and I make no apologies on that count.

There have been some of those games for me, but honestly I can't remember them all at this moment.
The one that glares in my mind though is the ending for Twilight Princess because the character in that I liked. Surprisingly Wind Waker didn't though and I beat that way before Twilight Princess. Another one was Okami.

There have been a few that have made me well up a bit, InFAMOUS 2s good ending, ICO, there were a few moments in Mass Effect (Mordins, Thanes and Legions deaths in particular). There have been others i'm sure, but I can't think of them right now.

Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Solid 3, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
These are some games whose endings got me to tear up. They are also some of my favourite. That's no coincidence.
Had Mass Effect's ending not had its fair share of problems, I'd have teared up at that too. That said,
Mordin, Thane and Legion's deaths were real tear jerkers.
Suffice it to say, If an ending is powerful enough, tears will flow.

I haven't cried since Freshman year in High School. I honestly think it's impossible for me to do so... That being said, there are a few games that made me feel like crying.

The ending of The Walking Dead.
The beginning of The Last of Us and end of the Winter Arc. Though I think the winter arc touched me due to something that happened in my past and I could actually relate to Ellie (as a 25-year old male)at that point.

Can't think of anything else I played that made me feel like tearing up. The only other thing to come close is certain music.

The Walking Dead is still to this day the only game to make me bawl like a little ***** at the end. But games like Flower and Journey have come damn close just from their sheer spectacle and emotionally charged soundtracks.

I think that might be it, actually. The sound. Because I was choking up at the end of Walking Dead and fighting back the tears, and then when Take Us Back came on, I fucking lost it. Dunno if it was just everything finally sinking in, or if it was just good selection, or both. Either way, any sense of manly composure was lost and I was uncontrollably sobbing on my keyboard. And it felt

Great.

Most recent thing I finished was Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep and yes, the ending made me cry. It was beautiful, sad, and also uplifting at the same time.

Yeah, I was pretty moved, and choked up once I beat Tomb Raider, and a few other games that don't spring to mind atm, but not many.

Some games just give you that emotional charge at the end, and carry it on, right up to the credits. I generally end up getting chokedup when I feel particularly badass.

Most commonly, if I respect a game, I'll watch the crdits in it's entirity.

Persona 4: Golden. Both True ending and extended epilogue ending.
They are incredibly well executed and oh so bittersweet.

I don't think I've ever actually cried, but I've been heavily moved or affected by games before. FF7 had a near perfect ending for me, and the way they resolved the character arcs was pretty brilliant. The Last of Us left me feeling pretty down, and the scene where Joel runs through the hospital, like he did with his daughter through the streets, was pretty emotional. None of those actually made me cry, however.

There was one scene though...

Manly tears were shed.
