I'm kind of amazed that Australian has ranked so low. That's mine, and Romanian is a close second.

I like French accents.

Amusing sidenote: I'm American. My first foreign language was French. Every additional language I've started to learn after French apparently has a French accent to it.

I'm very pleased to hear that people like the Aussie accent. In conclusion:

Australian, even if 90% of their speech is either incomprehensible slang, slurred by Fosters beyond all recognition, or muffled due to the large, serrated hunting knife gripped in their teeth. (Sarcasm)

I'm a fan of Russian, but I think my favourite is the Irish accent. It just makes me happy :p

Yeah no, that was not Australian, that was the American attempt at Australian that they always mix up with South African. We only have ourselves to blame for it with Crocodile Dundee (and Steve Irwin a bit) but when people talk about liking Aussie accents, that is not the accent they're on about.

South African is awesome. So is Leonardo Di Caprio putting one on.

Is your friend a tall guy, glasses, speaks in a monotone?

Yes well, that is the New Zealand accent.

I live in Australia, we get a lot of New Zealanders coming over here, so a few of my friends are from New Zealand. The hilarity goes way beyond Flight of the Conchords. they're pretty damn tame as far as the accent goes actually.

You can't really say one accent is representative of an entire country (or group of countries, in the case of Britain). There's a lot of diversity to be found.

And I'm going to be awkward and list a few that I like, since I don't have an outright favourite:
Ontario, Canada (can't get more specific than that, since I'm not all that familiar with the area)
Mild to moderate Geordie (Newcastle and the surrounding area, northeast England)
Vaguely suburban New South Wales, Australia
Mild Scottish (Paisley, to be precise)

Second thread exactly like this within 3 hours.

add that ontop of the "the last thing you ___ is now ___" threads are about to make me stop coming here. This site has turned into a PG rated /b/ with the same crap over and over.
