Just now saw "The Dark Knight Rises". I thought it was pretty awesome, as I had the first two, but I honestly couldn't make up my mind as to which of the three was my favorite.

Please say which is your favorite and why. I'm kinda leaning towards "Batman Begins" because Liam Neeson and Scarecrow were great villains, but also they didn't upstage Batman himself, who for the first time since the Adam West days felt like an actual interesting character. The next two movies, Joker and Bane were much more interesting to watch (sigh).

BTW, we're ONLY talking about the Nolan movies. Sorry, fans of Joel Schumacher

Best Batman films? Well certainly none of the Nolan films. You can replace any of the characters and still have serviceable stories. They are great films, don't get me wrong. But none were particularly good batman films.

That accolade goes to the original Tim Burton version.

If we're talking solely about Nolan's trilogy, I'd have to say the best was The Dark Knight. I think the music and cinematography of the opening heist scene were just superb and Heath Ledger gave a fantastic performance as Joker. Sure, I didn't care too much about the Rachel love triangle but the way it played it out and Dent's fall from grace made it work for me.

I didn't need a molded plastic suit to improve my physique. Pure. West. And doesn't Batman dance anymore? Remember the Batusi?

Yeah, Adam West, Burt Ward, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, Frank Gorshin, and Lee Merriweather.

Gonna have to give this one to The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker was masterful and the plot was quite epic. Considering the amount of dedication he put into that character, Its no contest. I especially like The Joker final scene with Batman and Batman's conflict at the end with Two Face.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say TDKR. It just clicked for me. I love the other Nolan films but TDKR just seemed to have a lot more meaning than the other two. Maybe that's the wrong way to put it. It's themes were just more relevant to everything we've experienced in the last few years... I just really dug it. On top of that, Tom Hardy as Bane was motherfucking brilliant. Just as good as Ledger's Joker but in a totally different direction.

Not only was The Dark Knight the best (Heath Ledger as Joker. RIP), but I got my first blowjob after me and my date saw it in the theater.

It's an exact tie between the first Michael Keaton batman and the Dark knight. Both were amazing movies that blindsided me. The first one was the movie that started the whole 'Serious & Dark' Comic book movie craze, and came out at just the right time (I was a little kid back then, and I would have liked it better that way). The Dark Knight was similar in that it came out at the same time when I could have appreciated it the most (as a young man). I liked the F-uped messages the latter provided, and I think that movie left a profound footprint on the world afterwards. It's still creepy to hear about Heath Ledger's final hours after his role, and all the rumors about it consuming him.

The one with Mr Freeze is the greatest, it's not even a debate.
Why?
This is why:
[small]but I suppose, seriously, The Dark Knight is the best.[/small]

I'm going to give the painfully unoriginal answer of The Dark Knight.

I'm going to follow that up with the painfully unoriginal reasoning of "because it had Ledger's Joker in it".

None of the others impressed me in the slightest. I can barely remember a thing about Batman Begins and I'm not even certain of which two of the old movies I saw.

When I was younger I had the Burton/Schumacher films on VHS and my favourite was Forever, then the 1989 one when I was bit more older but when I saw the Dark Knight it became my favourite, in fact I'd put it in a top 5.

The first Burton movie. Keaton, unlike Bale is actually intimidating as batman and he never loses his cool... unlike Bale.

The Mask of Phantasm would be my overall favorite, the DC animated flicks need more recognition.

But if I had to pick out of the ones on the poll... I guess it'd have to be The Dark Knight.

I can watch the Dark Knight repeatedly. I can't write that of any of the others. I go to just watch the fun scenes and find myself sitting through the whole thing.

Heath Ledger is great as Joker and gets lots of attention, but absoultuly everyone brings their A game. The movie is a good suspense flick and compares favorably to other adult fare like HEAT. It beats Rises particularly because there are a number of great Batman being Batman scenes in the movie. Example: the China kidnapping. Now that is Batman! You watch rises, and he pretty much "muscles" his way through every situation.

I can't wait for the reboot though. I hope it has the tone set by Arkham City. Give me credible, bullet resistant Batman with bizare universe with near super natural bad guys over Nolan's super realism, but without Schumaker's silliness or Burton's total beautilful mess.

The Dark Knight was my favourite. I mean, that opening scene was awesome. The whole cast were all awesome. The story was awesome.

Batman Begins was the best movie.

However the dark knight had some far better scenes and the Joker. But it just didn't work as well together as Begins did.

But I still haven't seen the latest one (yeah, so what?) so I can't compare it to them.
