I recently suffered the worst break up of my life, and then I began thinking, what is the best way to break up with a girl, or vice versa, like the best conditions while still be broken up. By the way the way me and my gf broke up just recently was by her changing her facebook relationship status and me finding out just tonight. The stupid thing is that she isn't even giving me a reason of why she broke up with me. So in your perspective, what is the best way?

Trust me, bro. You don;'t know bad breakup until you get divorced. As God and the Escapist are my witnesses, I will NEVER get married again.

A bad breakup is having a dozen, beautiful red roses thrown at you because the naked guy in bed with you isn't your boyfriend.

Correct you are, I'm currently going through the whole divorce fiasco and any interaction with the soon to be ex-wife is only a matter of time before we're at each other's throats.

Your way is pretty shitty, but my worst was in high school.

Her: "I'm pregnant"
Me: "WTF WE HAVEN'T EVEN HAD SEX!?!?!?"
Her: "I know. Now leave, my boyfriend will be here soon."

To make matters worse I didn't have my license then, so I had to call my grandpa to turn around and pick me back up. Another car turned into her driveway right after we left. I had been dating her for over two years.

?I?ve been thinking about our relationship lately. I think we both know it?s not heading where we want it to. I care about you a lot as a person. I like you; you?re someone I want to know for a long time, whether we have a relationship or not. But I think it?s best if we take some time off. Let?s end this now and see what happens in the future.?

What goes around, comes around. Not allowed to call it a bad breakup if it's your own damn fault for cheating.

OP: my girlfriend broke up with me for a gay furry. She cried to make me feel guilty. Another girl was only with me because she was convinced i was gay and wanted to "convert" me, though i kept telling her i was straight. Your problems are pathetic.

The whole walking in on your girlfriend having sex with another guy takes the cake in my book

In reality it is the breakups with no answers and no way to figure out why things ended they way they ended feel the worst.

First things first: talk to her and find out why she changed her status. Don't jump to conclusions. There might be a good explanation there, but you won't know if you don't ask. If she really is breaking up with you, then just calmly let her know that if her idea of breaking up is changing her facebook status and just letting you convenient find out, she isn't worthy of you anyway.

Maybe not as bluntly as that, but get the message across that you don't need that kind of crap.

Any more questions?

My last breakup was the worst because my ex was a total asshole who was only concerned about himself, his needs and his hobbies and then when I broke up with him he turned into a whiney, creepy internet stalker. Well, that's the short version of it anyways. The whole story is a little complicated and I don't really want to type it out unless someone really wants to know.

You are correct on count one!

He cheated, I forgave him.
I cheated, he threw roses at me.

We are on good terms. People are complex, doesn't mean it wasn't a bad breakup.

Sorry... i just had to laugh when i read that she changed her facebook relationship status. Seriously? She doesn't talk with you? What kind of girl/woman is she? Who DOES that, just indicating she is free and don't even SAY that to you. Does she want you to kill a dude for making his move, because you think she is yours?

Seriously though, worst breakup is with screaming and insults. If a person can wield intimate knowledge and trust against you to attack you emotionally it can be pretty upsetting (understatement) and an ex-lover has the most ammunition.

There is nothing quite like returning to your soon-to-be-ex's place and finding out they took damn near everything you owned to the Goodwill because you were unable to come back and claim it.

Just take it a day at a time, Mike old chum. And don't let her make you flip your shit. It's not worth it

I wouldn't say my last relationship ended badly, it just ended on a bad note. I left for four months to Yellowstone to work, like the previous summer, and my girlfriend, knowing it was happening, wouldn't stop giving me shit about it. We kind of argued about it for a week when I finally ended it because the complaining made my brain hurt. Mind you, I was in Yellowstone for about two months at this point, and she said we could make it work. I even suggested pausing until for when I got back, but she insisted.

Yeah, but at least you can milk that one. "No, still gay. We're going to have to try again. A lot."

I lucked into a divorce that didn't hurt as badly as it could've. I'd been married five years---my ex-wife and I just became totally different people during that time (as in, she gained 25 pounds and picked up a nasty ***** streak she didn't have during the year and a half we dated before the wedding, and I went back to college, got published as a writer, and just generally grew and improved as a person.)

I'm not against the idea of getting married again someday---I have no kids, but I want them, and if I meet the right girl, I'll just look at my first marriage as something to learn from.

As for why I say I "lucked out"? Simple. My ex's idea of a divorce settlement was "I don't want your money or your crap. I just want to pack my stuff and go back home. You can keep everything else." (she was from Edmonton and moved back there in as much time as it took the ink to dry on the divorce papers.)
