I'm looking to buy a Castlevania game for my new DS, I like over the top and flashy attacks so its not long before I get rid of that stupid dagger... And I love replay...
Which one should I buy?

I don't recall an Order of Shadows, but I liked Portrait of Ruin the best.

EDIT: It's also got the most replay value.
It has regular mode, Ritcher mode, Old Axe Armor mode, and Sisters mode, for a total of 4 different playthroughs.

Dawn of Sorrow has only 2, regular and Julius.
Ecclesia has the regular mode and Albus mode.

Um, Order of Shadows is a Cell Phone game (and from what I hear it's crap).

I personally prefer Portrait of Ruin. Dawn of Sorrow was nice but inevitably felt like a retread of Aria of Sorrow even with the upgraded Julius mode. Order of Ecclesia is probably the most bland of the three graphic-wise, although that's your game if you want a true challenge.

Portrait has the most 'over the top and flashy' attacks, best music, most replay modes and the best vocal samples among other things. They're all good games though.

i have only played dawn of sorrow and portrait of ruin(of the DS ones) but i must say this: do NOT waste money on portrait of ruin. i found myself having to WORK through the end of portrait of ruin, and the replays were no more appealing, whereas all the other (2d, why cant they seem to get 3d right? dark fantasy atmosphere melee focused metroid prime, its not that difficult konami! dont seperate the combat from the platforming with the same zeal jRPGs seperate gameplay from story) castlevania games ive played since SOTN i have replayed at least 3 times. dawn of sorrow was essentially aria of sorry, but with somewhat more exciting graphical effects, and slightly improved gameplay in every way, portrait of ruin... is what oblivion was to the elder scrolls, but without the technical advances. in theory, it was a good game, but they took all the stuff that made it what it was, and fucked it up, then they added an annoying gimmick, and overextended the gameplay. i cant speak for order of ecclesia, with my broken DS and all (fuck toyota) but im going to guess its better than portrait of ruin.

Can't help you here, I don't have a DS. I have a PSP, though, and I have the Dracula X Chronicles, which is extremely fucking-A+. If you get a PSP, get that.

It depends either you are good at castlevania or new to it.
Dawn of Sorrow if its your first time, becouse Order of Ecclesia is much, much harder.

Order of Eccelsia hands down.
Doesn't mean the others are bad or anything but Order of Eccelsia won so many awards for best game of the year [http://www.gametrailers.com/player/43838.html] (on the DS) so neglecting that title as the best Castlevania DS game is just poo-poo.

Hear, hear! It's got the original "Metroidvania" styled game plus a hard-as-balls classic styled one. Best of both worlds, I say.

I've only played Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia, I can happily say that both of them are awesome sauce and play differently enough to BOTH be worth owning/playing.

Though Ecclesia looks better, darker and more like Symphony of the Night, and has much cooler bosses.

I can say this, I loved the Metroid games and tried to get into Castlevania because of the similarities. I only played one Castlevania before: some GBA game where spirits/weapons were locked in card or something, played it for a day and got my ass handed to me. So I apparently suck at Castlevania but I'm willing to give it a second try. So to further your recomendations... Which one can I have fun with without getting my ass kicked every time?

The newer games are also known as Metroidvania. Well, OoE isn't. Because it ditches the open castle design in exchange for a map screen. And its better, in my opinion. Less hunting down where you need to go.

I enjoyed Order Of Ecclesia, its much easier in terms of exploration, but not too, easy, and the bosses are much more colorful and fun compared to the others. The game also looks great, surpassing Portrait of Ruin and Dawn of Sorrow visually, which is difficult.
