Poll: Best Game Ending of 2009

My favorite threads are probably the "Best" and "Worst" threads, maybe its because I like to see other people opinions? But anyways, on with it!

Which Video Game of 2009 did you think had the best ending? Going to put a poll on this one and see overall what people think, the games I have put on are games I have played and think have good endings, sorry if the one you like is not on there as I might have not played it!

I know that this is going to be said a lot but I would say my favorite game ending of 2009 is Modern Warfare 2, just because of the sheer awesomeness of the last level and the whole cinematic feel!

MW2, since I've only played MW2 and DA... and DA's ending was kind of a letdown.

Modern Warfare 2's ending was probably the best out of that list (though I haven't played Dragon Age). I thought the vault stuff was interesting in AC2, but the rest of the ending was pretty bad.

This is hard. games have such terrible endings. I'd like to say it was a modern trend, but it's not; most games just cant come up with a convincing or gripping conclusion.

Well, I only own MW2, RE5, DA:O and AC2 and have only finished MW2, RE5 and AC2 so can't judge them all. Out of those I have finished, the endings for MW2 and RE5 was somewhat nonevents - if we are actually talking about the end sequences here and not the final levels 0 I very much enjoyed the final moments of MW2.

So, for now, I'll go with AC2, even if it does commit the sin of making you continue play the game during the closing credits.

I voted FEAR2, because the Player Character gets RAPED. Never in a game have I ever seen such an ending, especially since your character was male and the rapist was female.

I found this such a unique twist its permanently burned into my memory.

I have to agree, when I finished that game I just sat there expressionless, that ending destroyed my soul. Then again I did end up telling all my friends about the ending, they didn't believe me at first!

That is until I shown them.

I've only played AC 2 and MW 2 off that list, and AC 2 had a better ending.

Bayonetta I got my hands on very late in 2009 and I would have to go for that. It was genuinely heartwarming.

I voted FEAR2, because the Player Character gets RAPED. Never in a game have I ever seen such an ending, especially since your character was male and the rapist was female.

As TVTropes pointed out, a complete subversion of "Rape is okay if it's female on male".

NO. IT. IS. NOT.

It never is come to think of it; it's RAPE for fuck sake. It's never okay, not mater what gender is doing it to what gender, and no matter what the ages of the respective parties are.

Anyway, I guess I'll vote for F.E.A.R. 2 having the best ending of the five choices given for the following reasons;

1) As said already, it's an excellent case fore 'female-on-male rape is NOT alright;
2) Resident Evil 5 was vastly inferior to Resident Evil 4; Sheva being no small part in this.
2) I haven't played MW2 as I am one of the 18 people ACTUALLY boycotting it. Well sort of. I'll get it eventually (maybe) but like hell I'm paying anywhere near full price for it.
3) Never played Dragon Age: Origins or Uncharted 2. U2 because I don't own a PS3, DA:O because I haven't gotten around to getting it.

Well, I would vote for Fallout 3 AFTER you install Broken Steel (since that DLC was released this year) but... no. Nothing can excuse the sick joke that is the original ending. NOTHING.

Borderlands! It was so disappointing it was amazing! I was super stoked for epic loots and the game was like, "NO SOUP FOR YOU!". Then I cried.

"The Ultimate Sacrifice" ending in Dragon Age: Origins was really touching. Alistair has impeccable voice acting.

Fallout 3 after Broken Steel. There's nothing more entertaining than taking down the Enclave with the Tesla Cannon then nuking the bastards. Or if I was so inclined, nuking the Brotherhood and looting the ammo stuffs. But I'm not that evil.

Resident Evil 5 had by far the cheesiest and most unintentionally hilarious ending I've seen this year. Hilariously overdone, but nowhere near as cool as Resi 4.

I'm going to go with Assassin's Creed 2, though I don't think any of the endings listed in the poll were truly amazing.

RE5's was a total letdown. About as anti-climatic as you can get. -_-

AC2 or MW2.

AC2 was much more compelling and interesting to think about, but MW2 did have a good ending where you throw a fucking knife in a dudes face- and its a better ending than CoD4 I'd say.

I think I'm leaning towards AC2 though. Just because I'm far more interested in learning more from that story, and not so interested in the next part of a Call of Duty story. If it fits together explosive set pieces as brilliantly as it has before... then that's all I want and all that will happen.
