Well it's an interesting idea to run a best game of '07 thread just before 2011, and is certainly a welcome relief from the never-ending horde of "best game of 2010" threads that pop up, but putting it up in the Off-Topic forum and saying you're going for the 100 views isn't a good start. You're new to the site, so I'm not going be an asshat about it. Just learn from your mistakes here and everything should be good.

As for spellcheck, I honestly can't say how to use it with a web browser because I don't use one myself, but a simple enough fix is to type your post up in Word and let it do a quick check of your post. Another good idea is to read your post over before you hit "Post". It can save much time and spare you the mocking comments from the grammar Nazis that infest the site like a plague.

Spellchecker is your friend. Use it.

Easy. The gorgeous and beautifully written Mass Effect.

Sure there was Bioshock and Assassin's Creed. Those games are awesome. But in my opinion, they fade away in the epic awesomeness that is Mass Effect.

I mean.... Rogue Spectres and Geth and Reapers Oh My!

OT: When was 2007? I guess CoD4 because it was just really good. The best CoD game to date...

I have had this thought. It was an epic year for games. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Mass Effect, thread over, give me an award. In all seriousness while 07 was a good year in gaming I wouldn't call it the best. I specifically recall being without a good game to play throughout most of the summer. Personally I thought 08 and 09 were better years for gaming but that's just me.

Also for the record, do you know how boring it is when gaming is your #1 hobby and your in the middle of a mountain for a month and you've got both your Wii and PS3 with you and you don't have any good games to play? It's really dull. It's even more painful when E3 was on at the time and I was watching footage of the games that I wouldn't be playing for another few months.

My best year in gaming is actually this year. Two releases are now in my all-time top 5: Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption. I can't say that for any other year. Beyond those two, there were many other games I greatly enjoyed:: Enslaved, Assassins' Creed Brotherhood, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Dragon Age Origins: Awakening, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, Metroid: Other M, and I'm even giving Final Fantasy 13 a try and am enjoying it. This year actually blows any other year out of the water for me. Hooray.

'07 an all-time great year in gaming? I don't think so. That was a pretty weak year overall---I had Europa Universalis 3 as my GotY that year.

You want to talk great years, you need to look at 1987, 1994, 1998, and 2004.

Oh only Burning Crusade? Yea, must have been a shitty year. Burning Crusade was the worst time in WoW. Vanilla was better and Wotlk was much much much better.

And the other games come and go.


/EDIT: DANG! Totally forgot that Portal was released in 07. So it wasn't that bad of a year.

It was a great year all right, Mass Effect being my fav from it. I think 2010 is a strong contender for best gaming year, tons of sequels, re-boots and new IP's of a huge quality released every few weeks! I buy new games all time and I still have tons of big games to buy from this year.

2007 was an OK one. Fav was BioShock.
