Poll: Best Halo Game

I personaly liked Halo CE the best, and it had online so your "It has multiplayer first" is rubbish.

Halo: CE (2001) on the Xbox was before LIVE, it didn't have true online, unless you used a WAN setup of some kind, but even then it was not a true "Online Game" or "Online Community" as many have come to understand/define it. Halo 2 (2004) did come with LIVE and before the PC version of CE with "online play" in 2005. As for having Multiplayer, yes, CE did have that first (of the Halo series).

OT:
Halo: CE. I dunno, xbox was my first console, CE was my first game on that console, I was really impressed with it, and made a lot of life-long friends at CE LAN parties. Also, how can you not love the pistol?

The rest are still good, and I think Halo Wars did an excellent job as an RTS, let alone as an RTS on a console.

Bought ODST, haven't had a chance to play yet.

I'll vote original HALO first(because combat was Evolved) and then ODST and then Halo 3.

However I really HATE how Bungie and MGS(Microsoft Game Studios) won't let you take a vehicle outside of certain areas in ODST. Thats what I loved about HALO CE.

Even though every halo after halo CE had better graphics, weapons (excluding the pistol of course), plot, gameplay, I will still say that Halo CE was the best, with Halo 2,3 and ODST taking joint 2nd and halo wars bringing up the rear.

Halo: Custom Edition


It's an official (but free) upgrade to Combat Evolved that allows mods and custom content, by far and away it's the best Halo game so far. Pelican gunship bombing runs!

Halo 2 seemed the most balanced to me. Good, long, epic campaign and the multiplayer had no particular issues. Sure, it lacked many of the multiplayer features of Halo 3, but I think a mixture of those two would be rather interesting

Halo 1 was and is the best, if only because the weapons are all balanced in the multiplayer and are all easily obtained/readily available. Yeah, there's a lot of people who say Banshees are overpowered because they can run over people on the ground, but so what? Also, let's not forget it had the best weapons. Tracking rocket launcher, sniper rifle, zooming pistol, assault rifle, all present, accounted for and fair.

But the most important fact, the one that sets Halo 1 over the top as the best Halo game is IT HAS THE REAL BLOOD GULCH. Blood Gulch > All Other Maps. You don't fuck with Blood Gulch. It really is the best map for vehicular, long- or short-range combat. If there was some way I could make love to Blood Gulch, I would.

Thank god, I thought I was the only one to love Halo 2. Not only is it the best, it's one of my top ten games ever. I never got why people seemed to universally hate on it, but now I can see it has more fans than I thought.

Having played all of them, I really did like ODST the best. Thought maybe it was because I didn't play the original until after I played the newer ones.

I'd have to say Halo 2. Halo had the better story and all, but 2 really balanced out the different weapons in multiplayer. Plus it had the most entertaining glitch ever, you might recall the beam sword madness they had there for a while.

I mean frankly each Halo game has had something different to offer, so it may vary based on individual reasons

Halo 2: It rocked on LANs, although I thought the flood was a bit annoying, still dont like those missions, but every now and then I like to play it.

Halo CE/ Halo 3 ODST: First one had the story and ze PISTOL, to ODST I fell in love with the silenced magnum, story was good, great music, and also that hidden sadies story plus Firefight.

Halo 3: Well Campaign was ok, never really enjoyed replaying it unlike the others, but the superb multiplayer adds up for that, also theater and forge mode are a good choice to spend time.

Halo Wars: Excellent Cutscenes the rest is meh.

I only played ODST and 3, I preferred 3. Also, shouldn't Halo wars be an option?

Also I want to say that Halo wars has the best console RTS controls to date

Played all of them. Halo: CE is definetely my favorite. Ive had the most fun with halo 2s multiplayer though.
