Who is your favorite game company of the options listed here?
Polls only give 8 options so I chose the 7 largest that I could think of and left the last one blank because god forbid I forgot somebody major.

Vote based on:
Quality of games released,
Company policies,
Innovation,
Style,
MOST IMPORTANTLY, consider subsidiaries, if Bioware is the best thing since sliced bread for you, consider voting EA even if you hate EA's cop orate shenanigans, (though say so in the comments)
or whatever else you like about them.

Think that somebody else deserves your vote and deserves to be slot 8? Let me know who you think should take slot 8, be it Square Enix, 2K, Bethesda, or Mojang.
Garner enough votes for one and I will add it to the poll.

Can we have a "None of the Above" option please? I'll admit to being an Xbox-er, but no way am I voting for Microsoft as "Best" major gaming company. I think you'll have a few people asking for substitutions. I mean, how many people are going to vote for EA, A/B or Ubi?

Saying that, I predict Valve to take 1st place ahead of Sony, with a slim chance of Sony edging it.

The right answer is obviously Platinum Games, and I dare anyone to say otherwise.

I double dare them.

They're the Trigger of the games industry, so awesome.

None of those, even Valve pull some dodgy shit on occasion. CD-Projekt Red are decent, they don't try to fleece customers and work hard to make the best games they could possibly make.

CD Projekt RED, although your definition of "major" would imply world-wide renown (they're apparently biggest Polish publisher). Obsidian is another one, or any Black Isle offshoot.

From the list though, Valve. If it were based on games, Nintendo would take lead due to sheer amount they have, but Valve runs the best major gaming service.

Well i thought bout adding an Other/None-of-the-above option, but the point is who is the best/worst of the *Major* companies, I think I would be more inclined to add a "none of them, they all suck" option though. Let me know if you think that this is what you think slot 8 should be.

I voted valve, but I would probably go Mojang if it was *any* gaming company.

I predict a large valve majority (based on that this website's clientele is pretty PC based I think)
but that Sony and Nintendo will get in on the action quite a bit too.
who knows.

well just from the list I'll say valve or sony, valve moreso for not trying to screw me every single time they sniff my wallet, and anytime they have released a game (whether or not I like it) it tends to be pretty dang polished.

but if I had a choice I'd definitely say CD Projekt RED or obsidian entertainment.

Of those listed, Nintendo. When the worst thing they do is something 90% of the rest of the industry does (make lots of sequels), you're doing something right. They actually release full, complete games that are worth $60. They handle also DLC better than most of the industry, either have big DLC expansions (new Super Luigi U) or just give out free content to their players (all the mystery gifts they give on Pokemon). They make great games that are both fully functional and complete (a rare thing in this day and age) and treat their customers with respect.

Plus, they have some great companies working for them like Intelligent Systems, Retro Studios and Monolith Soft. The fact that they're basically bankrolling Platinum at this point earns them lots of brownie points with me as well.

As of now, its Ubisoft. Thats right, come and get me.

Playing through the Assassins Creed and Far Cry series recently has given me weeks of entertainment. And now ACIV: Black Flag on the PS4 is slowly earning itself a wedding proposal from me.

From the list I'm assuming you mean "Best Video Game Publisher",and if that's the case then I would go with either Sega or Bandai Namco as they publish Platinum Games and From Software titles respectively.

Valve wins out of the choices listed, but I'd recommend not trusting any company for anything.

Pretty much all the other companies I still have residual animosity against. Nintendo for the LP bullshit, EA for being EA, Ubisoft for shitty DRM and bad PC ports, Activision Blizzard for being Activision Blizzard, M$ for the xBone, etc.

Well, at least Nintendo is in second place, though I think it's the best of the bunch. Even though Valve has its charm and popular policies, as a primarily console gamer, Nintendo takes the cake by far.

I'd say Nintendo, they pull less shit than the others. That's all I can say.

I'm with this guy. Ubisoft is one of those few major companies really trying to innovate amongst the major companies.

But as I can see, everyone is giving Valve props for those, like, 2 good games they made. And I didn't even enjoy Half Life.

Did people get turned off voting for Blizzard because of that "Activision" word preceding it? :p

All I know is that Blizzard gave me the greatest pastimes of my life (WoW, Diablo II and Starcraft), introduced me to TONS of friends & communities, and has some of most rock-solid customer support I've ever encountered. This was of course some years ago, I don't know what they are like now.

Without Blizzard I would've been a different person today, so I kinda owe it to them and voted them as the "best" company. Of course, that doesn't de-value companies like Valve and CD-Projekt...they are awesome too. It's just that they haven't impacted me (personally) anywhere near as much as Blizzard have!

I said EA. I disagree with the criticisms levelled against them.
I don't think groups like Bethesda, 2K etc should be on the list as their not as major league as the ones on there.
I'm surprised Valve has so many votes, I don't see what's so special about them. Saying that I didn't like Half Life or Portal, find steam annoying as shit and think their new console looks laughable.
