Poll: Best major gaming company.

I´d go with Nintendo, i´m not too fond of their hardware, but they make some great games and that´s really more than i can say about most of the companies listed in this poll. Sony would be my second choice, mostly because i enjoy their hardware, unfortunately i don´t care much for their first party software but they are pretty damn good at securing some pretty diverse stuff on their consoles and they always have some really cool thirdparty games available on their consoles.

I don´t really care for the rest, i liked Blizzard a long time ago, but after Warcraft 3 they went down hill pretty fast. And i will admit that i kinda blame them for destroying the Rpg genre, basically i haven´t cared for many rpgs since Diablo turned it all into a loot and exp fest.

I'd have to choose Valve out of the small amount of options in that poll, but my main choice would be Platinum Games. They continuously make fantastic games that no one ever buys. Atlus is a close second and Nippon Ichi takes 3rd.

Generally; Firaxis, 2k, possibly Take-Two in general. Creative Assembly and Bethesda as well.
Special mention to Mojang for being an epic grassroots dev.

Playing through the Assassins Creed and Far Cry series recently has given me weeks of entertainment. And now ACIV: Black Flag on the PS4 is slowly earning itself a wedding proposal from me.

Very true, purely for games they have been doing great these past few years and with The Division and Watch Dogs incoming that looks set to continue.

Though if I could choose anyone I'd go for Bungie. I don't trust any other company in the way I trust Bungie to make something I will love.

Edit: I know Valve is pretty decent but something grates me about how they seem to get a free pass on their more dodgy practices and the fact their games (In my own humble opinion) are kinda overrated. Portal 2 and L4D 1 aside I don't think they have done particulary great games.

None of those, even Valve pull some dodgy shit on occasion. CD-Projekt Red are decent, they don't try to fleece customers and work hard to make the best games they could possibly make.

I absolutely love CD Projekt. I would vote this if it was there. They've misbehaved ONCE (that I know of), and apologized for it rather quickly.

Out of the available options - Nintendo.

While a lot of their games are iterative rather than entirely revolutionary, what they iterate on is generally a solid base. They tend not to produce total stinkers, and they are the least anti-consumer out of the current gen consoles.

Apart from Pokemon X and Y (I count Game Freak as Nintendo because the company holds a 53% stake in them), I also haven't particularly noted them adopting the same patch culture that afflicts the other developers on the list.

The games they release tend to at least be finished.

I don't think it's very wise to judge a game company by the games they make. Let me explain. Companies like EA and Ubisoft has made some awesome games, but as game companies, they've shoveled some serious bullshit into the market. From bullshit DRM to bullshit DLC... Their games may have been good, but what they're doing to the consumers is shit. On the other hand, there's CD PROJECT and Valve. I'm so-so on the Witcher series, and I straight up do not care about Half-Life, but between GOG and Steam, they are examples of how to treat your customers right.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, consider subsidiaries, if Bioware is the best thing since sliced bread for you, consider voting EA even if you hate EA's cop orate shenanigans, (though say so in the comments)

Based on Quality, Innovation and Style, I'd have to say Capcom, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Square, Namco. I don't know anything about company policies, or subsidiaries.

well he said major gaming companies, bathesda releases a few popular games, but they aren't a big publisher. people HAVE picked ubisoft, after all hardcore AC fans might vote for them just for that reason. The OP states that games that you like is a qualifier, so i thought about voting EA given bioware/masseffect. then I came to my senses and voted valve... portal FTW.

Funily enough Microsoft gets more hate than even EA.

I think its a good list of top 7. There are so many that 'might' fit in the eighth slot; bethesda 2k, capcom, squenix, konami, etc, but none of them clearly deserve it over all the rest I think.

I'm surprised at how Activision is doing in the poll. I didn't like them for a while but I did feel sorry for them when Viacom there parent company almost tried to bankrupt them. Damn you capitalism.
