How could not list the WCW/Nitro or WCW Mayhem or Wrestlemania 20 games (any of those from Aki/THQ)?

Clearly a flawed poll.

Super Mario 64 Because it was the only one of those that I ever finished and it defined all gaming for me until I discovered RPGs.

There was only one game I ever really cared about on the N64- that was Goldeneye. I beat OoT recently, and also have flown through Star Fox 64- both were good- but none were as solid as Goldeneye. Slightly off topic, have they made a better Bond game yet?

I voted for SM64 because it makes me melt into a puddle of pure ecstasy just to pull his nose at the title screen.
Perfect dark is better than GoldenEye IMO. Better guns, more immersive story and a better lead character.

I love ALL N64 games because they are big carts. Nothing better than a big cart. Much better than a big disc like everyone seems to cram into their fanboy arses these days for three reasons.

1. A cart can take a beating and STILL be as good as before you droppoed it down the stairs.
2. You can save onto a cart. You need nothing but the console, a controller, a game and the TV
3. Easier to wipe fecal matter off a cart
1. Blu-ray discs are supposedly "scratch-proof". I wouldn't go out of my way to test that claim, but my 1-year-old decided to test his teeth against a disc and scraped off the label side. It still works fine whereas if you did that on a DVD chances are the disc would be ruined.

2. Yes, although even back in the day the N64 had memory packs - but your point of course stands.

3. I don't even want to know how you get fecal matter on your cartridges. I'm not that curious. :)

By the way, is that the Fleetwood Mac or the Judas Priest version of The Green Manalishi you are adopting as your username?

Blast Corps was a game and a half. Went for Goldeneye because I had so many good times with friends playing that. Banjo-Kazooie is a classic too, shame the new one doesn't sound like it's up to scratch.

Pilotwings was another amazing game. Top background music too.

And I played Donkey Kong til my hands got RSI.... not really but I did play it a lot
I love Pilotwings (where's the sequel, Nintendo? Seriously now!) but I don't recall playing it nearly as much as the SNES version. It might have been due to the fact I had to rent the game at the local Blockbuster's back in the day (it was hard to find any N64 games where I lived back then), but my memories are still firmly planted with the 2D version.

I missed the chance to play Donkey Kong, as I left the country and regaled my N64 to my brother-in-law just before the game was released. Checking on metacritic it received stellar reviews. Unfortunately I doubt I will ever have the chance to play it again, seeing that it's a RARE game and I highly doubt it would ever make its way to the virtual console.

man i can't even whittle it down to 1

zelda OOT and....perfect dark (runs)

goldeneye is king, i know that, but PD trumped it in terms of single player mode, co op, COUNTER OP (i mean jesus man no other game has ever done this and to my knowledge still hasn't) and a robust optioned multiplayer mode, not to mention great characters. PD is defo one of the best games ive played full stop.

P.S i know it's been said, but yeah, lylat wars man, again one of the best games ive played, just incredible and i have never gotten tired of its single player mode, its amazing (so now i guess it has turned into my top three lol)

P.P.S some may slay me for this, but i never played Majora's Mask (runs again)

It really depends on the situation the game is played in. When it was the top console, I would have to say that Ocarina of Time or Paper Mario was the one that got the most play time on my 64. Now, however, whenever my more casual gaming friend pulls out his 64 every once in a while, we absolutely love playing Blitz 2001 (only football game we've ever thought about playing), Mario Tennis (both Tennis players), and super smash bros the first one.

Edit: Come to think of it, I think I played pokemon puzzle league (was absolutely unbelievable at that game, I played it so much!) more than OoT and Paper Mario combined...it was scary how addicting it was.

Meh, it's pretty overrated... just a strong, competent "find-a-bazillion-items" 3D platformer, the likes of which is widely available on the PS2 or Gamecube, except bettter.

PilotWings with the Wiimote would be really, really fun.

I CALL NO ODDJOB!!!
Haha, yeah. I think later the rule was broadened because there was a short Moonraker Elite.

Voted Goldeneye because it got me into FPSers.

I prefer DK64 or Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, those games were perfect.
