Most of you may not remember Crash games, but damn were they addicting. Possibly bring it back...? Drake 2 is best in series in my opinion, but Last of Us is undeniably amazing. Jak is hit and miss...but its your opinion.

The Last of Us.

Then again, I haven't played any of their other games. My little sister had Crash Bandicoot on the PS1, but I never played it.

It also happens to be an excellent game, so I am pretty glad I gave it a shot. It's not perfect, but it is hands down the best game I have played this year. I think it is a game that could really do with a sequel somewhere down the line.

Have the sequel ten years or so after the game ends and have Ellie as the main protagonist now that she has grown up. There is a whole bunch of stuff they could do to continue the world if they wanted, and I think it'd be a great idea to have a direct sequel with a different player character, as it doesn't happen very often, but in this case it would work.

I'm going to go with Jak. Amazing graphics, hilarity, great story, and a brand of 3D platforming that doesn't exist in the AAA market anymore.

Hard to say, I didnt really care for the crash games and I dont care for uncharted either. The only game in that list that I did somewhat enjoy was the Last of us and even that had medicore gameplay (but the story/characters were good). Although I really wish they would have done a PC port rather then make it PS3 exclusive

I would have loved to cast a second vote for Crash Team Racing. That's one of the unsung legends of the Karting genre. While it took a lot of cues from Mario Kart, the game had its own mechanics and identity which made it a huge blast to play. I still occasionally crack it out now for some Karting goodness.

Shame the sequel was so average...
Personally I preferred CTR over Mario Kart 64 (Double Dash is my favorite MK) because it was fun to do the ghost trials to unlock N. Tropy and the races tended to get more difficult over time I found, especially in my LP but then again I murdered them later on. XD
Nitro Kart was indeed a disappointment, but Tag Team Racing was actually a lot of fun and was made by the people who made Twinsanity so it was also hilarious. Sadly Activision acquired the rights to the Crash Bandicoot series after that.

OT: I voted for the Crash Bandicoot series because Crash Bandicoot was an excellent platformer that was loads of fun. The levels were really memorable and was a bit more difficult then Mario 64 I found (mainly Crash 2 because of the Death Routes to get the gems).

I highly doubt that they'd port it over to other plaforms other than Sony ones since Naughty Dog is a first party developer for Sony. A Naughty Dog game being published on another console would be like a Mario game being ported over to the 360.

Last of Us, easily.

Never liked the Crash Bandicoot games. Always found the controls horribly awkward and overly sensitive. (Remember the music being cool though.)
Jak and Dexter was just... blah. Forgettable and average in every way.
Uncharted had its moments when the action and level design came together, but was otherwise pretty unremarkable.

Last of Us on the other hand was fucking awesome. Even if they did go for the tired old zombie apocalypse. Great blend of action and stealth that makes the stealth feel useful without making the action feel like you've screwed up the stealth. Good focus on characters. It's nice to finally see Naughty Dog flex their muscle on something with a bit of meat to it.

I haven't played the Last of Us yet.

So as it stands, Jak II gets my vote.

Yeah, you're right but that doesnt mean I cant dream or request it. We would have never gotten the Dark souls port to PC if we didnt speak up. Maybe a second miracle could happen

Sony would probably just wait until they were out of all other options to eventually do that. While I see the response of people wishing it were not a PS3 exclusive a lot of the time people think Sony pulled a MS and made it some sort of timed exclusive. I've actually seen many people who didn't know on this site that Naughty Dog is a first party developer for Sony.

Ok, this is a no-brainer. I grew up with crash bandicoot, it's what made me love the platforming genre in the first place. I can't possibly answer this question without this sort of fuzzy nostalgic feeling affecting my judgement.

I liked the Uncharted series. They were not the most refined gaming experience I've had; they were enfuriating at times but were still pretty, atmospheric and most of all fun. I'm playing The Last of Us right now and so far the game has been nothing short of amazing. As for Jak; I've played through the first game in the HD collection so far (I ended up skipping the entire PS2 generation so I'm only catching up now) and it was... like everything that I've ever liked about videogames distilled into its purest form, then put together and polished to a mirror shine. It's basically Crash but bigger and better.

And even with all those contenders, some of which I genuinely think are better games, I still vote for Crash. Call it sentimental value.

Tough call...

I'm going with Uncharted 2.
That's not to say the other games suck. But Uncharted 2 was easily one of the best games I ever played. Polished, fun, and really captured the feel of an Indiana Jones film in the form of a game. 3 was also good, but lacked the same polish which made it slightly less enjoyable to me.

Of course, the Jak series is great. The Crash series is one of the premier PS1 game series (Crash was sort of the Playstation mascot for a time).

I have yet to play the Last of Us, though. I hear good thing. I'll play it at some point, I'm sure.

Honestly, Naughty Dog is one of the better developers around. Few have such a strong library to their name. And since they don't seem like they will be getting bought by Microsoft anytime soon, I'm looking forward to their continued output.

Crash was my childhood. Besides, although I enjoyed Jak and the Uncharted games, they have not brought me nearly as much joy as the Crash games have. Maybe if Jak 2 and Jak 3 lived up to the original.
Also, haven't played Last of Us yet, so it could be that good. I just don't know.

Although the original Crash was the first game I ever played, my vote goes to the Jak and Daxter series.

The story, comedy, gameplay and overall tone of the series were just great. You felt the title evolve over the course of the series. Like a human it started off "young" being colourful, fun and mysterious. Then came the second installment, the teenage years. Jak was finding out who he really was, the feel of the game was shrouded in mystery and change. You were constantly looking for a place to fit in. The final third was the adult stage. Jak was taking control of his life, he had a purpose and a reason for the things he did.

Jak and Daxter gets my vote (I prefer Ratchet, but that's not what the poll is asking for). The first game is pure, simple, beautiful platforming bliss. The second game I find endlessly fascinating that it actually WORKED. Extremely flawed in some areas (the difficulty spikes and unforgiving checkpoints, Haven City is a boring overworld with no insentive to explore, driving is meh, it grates when the game decides to be super-edgy, and the story has some wasted opportunities), but everything else fits so surprisingly well. Platformers like Spyro and Sonic have been practically disowned by their fanbases when try tried to go dark, but Naughty Dog still knew what made the game good. Game was still funny (Daxter at his best right here), Jak has a voice but is still the more man of action than the talker, great animation and stylized character designs, solid platforming, good acting, no visible load times, and I dare you to not drool at Haven Forest. Jak 3 is...ok but ultimately bogged down by cars that don't work that make up a majority of the game, lots of mini-games, and the worst writing out of the entire trilogy and then some. Jak X I never tried since I don't do racing games (not to mention Jak 3's cars were broken and the game had a glitch that buggers up save files).

Crash and I have a lot of history, being the first PS1 game I ever played way back in the 90s. All good fun, but I prefer Spyro.

The Last Of Us is great, but it's not my thing as much as platformers are. Love it to bits and I don't regret the purchase, but I get scared when my character can't jump. X is for jumping, damn it! I needs it! D:

Uncharted I don't care much for. If someone I like is playing then I'll watch, but TLOU gave me more to gleefully chew on than Uncharted ever could.

3 games of building up the reputation of the universe's creators, deities, the most powerful beings in existence, has come up to this.

Excellent choice, good sir! I think it's a toss up between the two you mentioned. Jak 2 has nostalgia behind it, it was really funny, good gameplay and environments, and a surprisingly well done story. One of the best ps2 games. I've been a naughty dog fan since their start, with the only game I wasn't fond of being the Uncharted series, and even that had its moments.

I feel like Uncharted was a jack of all trades, but a master of none. Solid writing, but everything else was mediocre. The Last of Us felt far more refined, not spread out so thin, and the gameplay and story worked well together, something that was oddly disjointed in Uncharted. I think Jak 2 had a more original premise and more appealing art style, but The Last of Us had far better characters, and a more sobering plot. The Last of Us wins by a hair, but it still stands out as their best game to date.

Jak and Daxter easily. While I haven't played The Last of Us yet (and don't particularly want to, but probably will sooner or later), I'm not keen on any other Naughty Dog franchise; Crash Bandicoot is just okay to me (I much prefer the original Spyro trilogy) and Uncharted is two gallons of bleh. I didn't like J&D much either until picked up the PS3 collection and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the games now that I'm older and more appreciative of its particular charms. The first game is a very solid early-sixth-gen platformer and its two immediate sequels, while having taken a very unexpected turn from the blissful simplicity of the original, are nonetheless excellent. Well, Jak 3 is anyway; truth be told I've stayed away from Jak II for the time being. I'd probably be much better at it now than I used to be but boy...I would need to be in a rather plucky mood to give it a go again.

Across the board I prefer the "brother" games to Naughty Dog's series (Spyro over Crash Bandicoot, inFamous waaaaaay over Uncharted), but Jak and Daxter comes very close to beating out the perceived competition. I wouldn't put Jak 3 in a list of my top ten favourite games or anything, for instance, but I nonetheless enjoy it immensely. Which reminds me, I should get around to buying Daxter one of these days.

I'm curious as to why you avoided Jak 2. Most of the people I've talked to prefer 2 over 3 for the most part, and 2 pretty much builds much of the world in 3 so I don't know how you got through without taking a peek at a wiki 0-0. The game is really needlessly dark in the beginning, but it lightens up towards the middle (like Jak actually fucking smiling and cracking a joke). Though it also means a lot is spoiled for you if you played 3 first.

Captcha: awesome dude!

Captcha believes in you!

If it's the difficulty, then I feel for you. The game's difficulty can be brutal and inconsistent (one of the hardest missions I find is one of the first ones in the game). I've come to spam jump-spin-shooting with the blaster to get through some of the trickier areas (such as the water slums, the palace, and second revisit in the prison. Cleans up really well) so it makes life a lot easier and does help counter how the aiming isn't that great. I platinumed it, followed by a triumphant scream over how much I tortured myself over some of those orb missions (fuck you Erol, you filthy, cheating hacker). Never played hero mode, but I heard it doesn't take long for it to feel impossible.

Every time I've heard someone talk about Jak II, it's to complain about the difficulty, so it kind of made me chicken out while playing through the collection. Thus I decided to go straight from The Precursor Legacy to Jak 3. But my sister owned all three on the PS2 back in the day. While I never played them much myself, I did watch her finish all three of the games (with much strife over Jak II) before and she was very into the series in general for a long time, so I'm already well-versed in the, well, universe. lol

I do plan to take another crack at Jak II one of these days, but that will have to wait until I've cleared up some of my backlog.
