The Gameboys, without a doubt, I've still got my Gameboy Pocket and it's awesome. Wish I could find all the games I used to have for it, I only know where Pokemon Yellow is.... (in the Gameboy).
is that the tiny one without colours? I still got mine if it is :p with Donkey Kong Super Mario and Star Wars! ah man brings back memories of better times
Yup. it had a great screen back in the day. I can still remember playing 6 gold coins on it.

Come to think of it, some of my best retro memories stem from portable games. Probably explains why I sort of hoard any old handheld I can find in a store or on ebay. They're all just so good.

SNES because the amount of games was great with one of the higher Great:Crap ratios out of all the systems.

Im getting quite a bit of fun out of my DS at the moment, but i have to say it was the SNES or the N64, i lost months of my life thanks to those two games, but helped me recover after my surgerys so eh, win and lose i guess.

I typically consider the N64 era to be the Golden Age of gaming. There are just far too many amazing and ground-breaking games for that console.

I went with super nes, had alot of my favorite games and the begginings of great franchises. N64 was a close second and was virtually tied what with golden eye, smash bros, paper mario, etc.

when I think of consoles my ps1 spanked my 64 and I just wasn't a kid anymore when gamecube came out so it had the same wii problem of babying the consumer.

I'm for the Cube. That thing is sweet, and is easily the coolest looking console ever created.
Perhaps I'm biased by the fact the Wii is a Gamecube with a funky controller.

Why can't there be an All of the above option? Seriously i've been with Nintendo all my life and i just refuse to choose one console to be the greatest of all time. But since the rules of this poll force me to i'm going with the SNES..no wait the N64..aw god dammit i can't choose.

I voted for the GBA. Simply because it is one of two Nintendo systems that sucked hours out of my life (and still does to be honest). I decided to restart my Ruby of version of Pokemon just for the hell of it. I haven't been able to put it down for a week...and I'm supposed to be researching for a paper.
Although the N64 is up there...I mean...Donkey Kong 64 was amazing XD.

N64 as first, but a close second with the gamecube. Had some of my favorite games of all time.

How can I be the only one who voted for NES so far. Do you people realize you wouldn't be playing a ps3, 360, or a wii if it wasn't for the NES? Sure it only had one directional and 2 buttons (4 if you count start & select) but it saved the industry.
History lesson:
Atari had it all, a hit console and tons of games selling all over the place. Along comes the hit movie ET and they think, let's cash in on this hit movie. So they make a really bad game based on this movie and print tons of cartridges. Not only that but they think people who don't have an atari will buy one to play the ET game. I guess they didn't realize how bad the game was because the whole scheme bankrupted them. They couldn't even afford the storage space for the machines and games and that's why we have these legends of ancient atari burial grounds in New Mexico.
That killed the console industry for quite a few years until the NES hit with Duck Hunt, SMB, and Castlevania. I bought one of the launch consoles and you know, the thing still works.
It's probably the best console ever.

Sorry to go off on you but you better recognize foos.

Edit: I see I'm no longer the only one... good... blood pressure going down... face returning to normal color.... breathing more regular.

I'm gonan say wii, if anything becasue every vote for gamecube is stupid.

The wii may not have as many great games made specificly for it as teh gamecube BUT it can play gamecube games, with gamecube controllers, so everything teh gamecube can do, teh wii can do, but it also does otehr stuff. So all it requires for the wii to be better than the GC is one single game that gives just a few moments of enjoyment, and even thoughits catalogue of good games are not that large, theres still some godo titles, which you couldn't play on the GC, where every single title on teh GC is avalible on the Wii with GC controllers.

Was thinking bout N64, but then i remembered that i have a GC disc with OOT and MM (some zelda collectors eddition disc) on it, so the 2 best games (IMO ofc) from the N64 is playable on my Wii as well.

All my favourite games are on the SNES and Gamecube, but the N64 had so much variety and so many great quality games that made gaming history that I believe it deserves the title.
